"The only place to get deep dish pizza in chicago."
"Some great spinach artichoke dip too, but not enough dipping chips."

Amazing deep dish. My girlfriend and I live in Toledo and every time we come to the Chi it is a mandatory stop. True pizzeria atmosphere in a nice big city setting. Pizza was the best we've ever had. Order while your waiting to be seated.

I went to this Gino's East with my parents awhile back when they were in the city, and boy, was it delicious. Let me preface this by saying Gino's is my second favorite Chicago deep dish (so far, next to Pequod's). I've been to the downtown location, and I actually prefer that as it has more personality inside, however this is a very convenient location if you're tooling around the North Side. The wait staff here was incredibly friendly, as our waitress was the best waitress I've had in Chicago in a year of living here. The pizza was exactly as expected (read; delicious), and it didn't take too long to get. The interior isn't anything to write home about, but it's got a nice view and you can do some good people watching because of the location while you wait on your food.

They have friendly service in a low-key pizzeria type place rather than a real sit down restaurant feel. There's a small parking lot with space for maybe five or six cars but lots of street parking nearby. A warning, a pizza takes about 40 minutes to get ready, so order ahead if you are in any kind of a hurry. I've only had Chicago-style a couple of times, but this seems like what it's supposed to be--a crunchy crust with a consistency that almost seems corn flour-y, thick cheese layer, then chunky sauce with toppings mixed in (there could have been more topping in my two-topping--I guess Chicago-style lets them hide what they're actually putting in). The bruschetta was fresh and loaded with tomatoes, but the bread was softer than I expected. Overall good, but I'll probably try someplace else next time for the sake of variety and comparison.

This restaurant is just near my house and I believe I will be going there a lot, since it has really good pizzas. I have only tried Chicago's pizza just yet, but I have heard that the fine crust pizza is really good too, or even better and not as expensive. Iconic place that should be visited at leat once.

So one of the staff was very nice but my two personal mini pizzas took 48 minutes to make and I was told they would take 20-25 minutes to make. One was just cheese and one was anchovies. They told me the larger ones would take 45 minutes so that's why I ordered two mini pizzas. I waited in my car and while I waited three people sat down ordered there pizza and ate. I had ordered before these people and still didn't have my pizza and they were already done. Next time I will pay and tip once I have my pizzas. Not a very pleasant experience waiting for pizza and honestly the pizza wasn't very tasty either. The girl was very nice that gave me the pizza though but when the guy came and told me that the pizzas weren't done I told him that it's a little strange that everyone else has their pizzas he just shrugged me off. A nice welcoming apology would have been greatly appreciated but this is chicago and not many businesses understand good customer service. Once again the girl that did her job was very nice and customer service oriented but not everyone their was the most pleasant.

We went here because the Groupon for this place was expiring soon. The deal included one medium pizza with an appetizer. The place was packed, all tables were occupied, and there were a lot of people waiting in the small sitting/take-out area. After about 45 minutes of waiting, we were seated and dealt with promptly. We ordered 2 appetizers and upgraded from a medium to a large deep dish pizza without any hassle. We were waiting a long time, watching parties who were seated after us get served their pizzas. Apparently, we were able to place our orders before being seated; however, this option was not offered to us. We definitely would have ordered pizza in advance if we had known. We got our drinks and appetizers pretty quickly, but when it came to the pizza, we waited....and waited....and waited...for over an hour while being neglected by the waitress. During that time, she didn't acknowledge us to see how things were going or to provide an update of how much longer the wait would be. As far as the pizza, it was decent, but the appearance of it didn't really look like a deep dish pizza...more pan-like. My friends and I didn't have that great of an experience here. I don't think any of us would come back.

I will not eat Gino’s in a house, I will not eat Gino’s here of there, I will not eat them anywhere, I did not enjoy my time at Gino’s on Lincoln. The Bad: Extremely long wait-time Our server disappeared The table that was sat after we arrived received their order before us The ‘deep dish’ pizza wasn’t that deep. The Good: It’s BYOB. Not a good first experience. I will not return for a second.
