My latest adventure led me to middle Tennessee with a brand new GoPro and an awesome partner-in-crime and outdoorsman. Check out my footage of Lost Creek Falls and Cave and an underground adventure to a subterranean waterfall.

Wow, what a stunning beauty! Catherine came to me with the request for a "traditional" bridal portrait, but I saw a little more within her. Knowing that she was a lifelong ballerina, I asked if she would be open to pushing the envelope a bit. She quickly obliged and I set out to create a hybrid bridal session that would cover what she originally requested and another set of photographs that would open her eyes up to the potential and insanely beautiful young lady I saw.

Fast forward, and WOW! She blew me away! When she saw the resulting images of our version of "film noir bridal," she ended up choosing the image that we created that opened her eyes to her own beauty. I was so proud that she was able to see what we had all seen in her humble heart the whole time, and it was even more sweet to see her husband's eyes light up when he saw the portrait for the first time.

From a beautiful bridal session to an amazing time at the wedding, I've had quite the awesome experience with Catherine. From one Catamount to another, thank you so much for such a wonderful time! Check out how beautiful this young lady is in her classic and timeless bridal session!

"The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams." -Oprah Winfrey

To all of my courageous and free-spirited friends out there who have taken a leap of faith, jumping wildly into the unknown to pursue an uncomfortable life full with no guarantees, chasing your dreams, CHEERS! Always live life to the fullest, for it is the unabashed and unapologetic pursuit of one's passion that fuels the greatest visionaries, dreamers, and doers in this life.

If Shining Rock Wilderness wasn't beautiful enough, think about having a mountain peak all to yourself with a 360 degree view! You could see my friend Cat Luther's bright yellow tent high on the ridge from miles away and I was immediately envious of the super cool spot she found to spend the night. I couldn't imagine how beautiful and awesome it was to simply unzip her tent, stick her head out, and see both the sunrise and sunset within hours of each other. Great to meet you, Cat, and I can't wait to share a trail with you again soon! #camping #backpacking #blueridgemountains #adventurephotography #shiningrockwilderness #pisgahnationalforest #blueridgeparkway

Isn't it amazing what twenty minutes can do to the same beautiful landscape? From the beginning of Blue Hour when calming blue tones cover the earth, the sun begins to rise toward the horizon, warming the morning sky and the earth below. As each minute passes, the earth's colors begin to gradually warm until the sun bursts forth on the horizon, pelting the scene with rich, vibrant, warm light. In photography, the only real tool we have is light; knowing how to use it and see it properly is the most crucial and beautiful thing a photographic artist can master. Check this montage out of Tennent Mountain in the Shining Rock Wilderness on Easter morning...from Blue Hour to sunrise, the scene was quite breathtaking and beautiful!

The last year has brought me so many new and amazing friends and adventures. As I was looking through some photos from last year, I found some old video footage from climbing at Ship Rock near Grandfather Mountain during the fall. The Blue Ridge Mountains were blazing with peak color and my friends anchored me to a rock 70 ft above the ground for some pretty epic photos. Check out yet another one of my crazy ideas and adventures!

Easter represents so many wonderful things to me--wonder, amazement, miraculous beauty, new things, and so much more. Growing up going to sunrise services made me appreciate what I saw this morning so much more: one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring sunrises I've seen in a long time. As I experienced this morning's beautiful scene with some awesome friends, I watched the fog roll through the fiery sky and realized just how blessed I am to have the physical and artistic ability, given to me by God Himself, to record such awesome wonder. For all that it represents for you and for me, Happy Easter to all of my amazing friends and family! #blueridgemountains #sunrise #easter #mountainsunrise
