To all meat and potato males thinking of eating here: My wife and I decided to try this place after all the good reviews we saw online. I should have know what I was getting myself into when we get the menu and there are like 4 things on it (all over $25) and I saw a waiter arrive for his shift outside on a single speed bicycle. I had heard they made their own pasta so I asked our waitress and she smugly said that is only available if you sit on the "bar" side. ( because I guess it would be impossible let us order off the bar menu) so we have to give up or seats and wait for a table on the other side. My wife wanted a cheese board so we ordered one. It was a bit pricey, like $15 , but I expected it to have a good selection. I kid you not there were 5 small pieces of cheese with some jelly smear with crackers. For $15 I could get a 12oz sirloin steak and pasta at carrabas if I wanted. My wife ordered the one pasta dish they had, and the only normal menu item they had that wasn't caked in zucchini paste and truffle spread was the cheeseburger. I would assume that would hard to screw up but by god they did it. It was one of the weirdest tasting burgers ive had, I assume because they decided it would be a good idea to mix in a thousand different spices. My wife's pasta portion size would be a nice snack for a 6 year old girl who's watching her weight. When the bill came it was like 70 dollars for the both of us, and I was just as hungry as when I came in, so i had to make a detour to theMcDonald's on dale st to get some filling food . If you like flannel, flat shoes, and pbr you may like this place, everyone else I would advise to avoid.

They are reliably the best in Jamaica Plain and worth a trip from other parts of the city too. The bar next door is a safer bet w/o reservations and you can get all the same things plus bar bites and great conversation with the bartender. We often come for the dollar oysters on Sunday afternoons and eat copious amounts of bread dipped in their really tasty olive oil. The kind of olive oil that hits you in the back of the throat a little bit.

nice atmosphere prompt but snobish service we ordered the tasting. tiny portions completely focused on presentation, only thing that stood out about the food was the price. we were very disappointed, we really enjoy farm to fork restaurants and seek them out but this was not a good experience

I love this place--I try to go here at least once/week, time permitting. Both dining room and bar menu's are excellent, and the drinks are amazing. There desert menu is also great! They really do a good job trying to change their menu, desert, drinks around often, so going back never seems old. The servers/staff are also great as well! Great Job and keep it up!

Absolute favorite of mine; I particularly love the bar side with its small bites. Ambiance is amazing, and intimate. Wine selection is well curated, lots of unusual options. Especially nice location for a date or special event.

Dimly lit with tea candles on every surface, this little bistro is cozy and romantic; the perfect place for a bottle of red wine. With a tiny open kitchen, you can watch your meal being prepared in the compact kitchen. I had this ah-mah-zing chicken served with brussel sprouts and kidney beans. Yes, brussel sprouts and kidney beans and it was one of the best meals I have ever eaten in my entire LIFE! My favorite restaurant in Boston right now.
