Cuchara Restaurant
214 Fairview St, Houston, TX 77006
Food was outstanding! Tacos (pork, bean, and potato) were all delicious. Enchiladas were some of the best I've ever had. Mimosas were also very good and mostly champagne. The way mimosas should be for a Sunday brunch. Also tried a red stew with pork and garbanzo beans that was delicious, but I can't remember the name on the menu. The whole menu looked reasonably priced for the area (Sunday brunch menu, doesn't seem to be on their website) but I was a little surprised to see that the mimosas, though tasty, were $9 each when the bill came. Not the best restaurant if you're looking for "sunday funday", but definitely a great food spot. Overall, some of the best authentic Mexican food I've had and I will definitely make another trip to try out the dinner menu.
Quality Excellent

Hands down the best bánh mi sandwich I've had in Houston. This will become a regular lunch spot for me. The staff was also really friendly and welcoming when I said it was my first time there.

Good Thai restaurant that can really bring the heat if you want it. Only downside is that sometimes the level of spice is inconsistent from one visit to the next. You may order "American hot" and get "Thai hot"... Or even worse, "superman hot" (those are all listed on the menu, for the record). Other than some potential unexpected heat the food is always good, especially the Red Curry and Pad Thai.

Pretty standard as far as Pei Wei goes. Tasty "American Chinese" food that is very consistent. The chicken lettuce wraps are always a favorite.

Went a couple weeks ago with friends for a nice Friday night dinner before the Michael Jackson Cirque du Soleil show and was very disappointed. Service was terrible, the waiter didn't even make an appearance until we had been sitting there for about 30 minutes. Food was mediocre at best and considering the price per dish it was down right criminal. Food & Service (1 star), view (1 star). My advice, check out the bar on the top floor, have a couple drinks, and enjoy the awesome view of the strip. Then leave and grab dinner at Shake Shack, their food is much better.

Rudy's will never blow you away with their BBQ (unless maybe if you're new to Texas), but they consistently produce good quality BBQ time after time. I don't think it matters what location you visit, they're all good.

Great burgers and sandwiches. Good portions for reasonable prices. Definitely worth the stop if you're around Tomball.
