Sounders reclaim a little Cascadia prowess. Topple Vancouver Whitecaps at home 2-nil. 55,000. Leaving CenturyLink feels like leaving after Seahawks on a Sunday. Amazing to have these kind of crowds for soccer in America. We dreamed. Now it's here.

Beautiful day in Seattle. Tonight's match will likely eclipse the Houston Dynamp's new BBVA Park opening day. RSL v Sounders turning into a top billing matchup.

No Sounders this weekend. Most MLS squads still in action. SKC will be gunning for 8 wins to start 2012, but will have to do it at Jeld-Wen, in Portland. Good luck! Good to have Mullan in Seattle in the past. They come again this year. So ther will be more Colorado v Seattle, but beyond the usual jeering, there isn't much left between fans and Mullan. 1-nil win seems to have calmed the pressure cooker. Sounders have won last 3 over Rapids.

Sounders travel to Windy City next week. First meeting with Rolfe, who may play as early as this weekend. Fire likely to be gritty early season challenge. They will want payback for lasy years loss in Seattle for US Open Cup title #3

Sometimes just enjoyable seeing what Major League Soccer is shaping up in terms of its image. I'd say it's looking good.

Estrada pairs with Montero on first leg of Champions League. Sigi looks brilliant. Goal was result of the coaching decision and Estrada's great preseason work. Will it work again in the second leg.

Seattle Sounders annual business meeting tonight. I will have an update to post here later. Busy transfer, trade, acquisition, and retirement offseason. Nine players from 2011 squad will not be returning. More on the way? Already 4-5 new coming in, and more to come. Faces changing, but the business of making "democracy in sports" work presses on with Front Office and Alliance Member tonight. Democracy is an imperfect science, but negotiation, compromise, and inclusion are the best tools for its existance. I'm not a "toe the company line" guy, but I do subscribe to the positive and eternally, glass always has possibilities in it, hopefull approach to life.

Two parts Sounder and two parts US Soccer. Agudelo and Christensen see advancement in US development. Chrstensen and White advance the word and power of Rave Green. At least as far as NBC and France.

Part one: A pretty good offseason soccer day for Sounders, sees Arlo White advancing from the comfortable club level to being the NBC voice for soccer. In my misty-eyed Northwest opinion, this is the best move NBC could possibly make to advance Major League Soccer. Even more than helping to bring back Beckham. Yup, you heard that here first.

Part two: Agudelo heeds Klinsmann's advice and takes an offseason double shot of passport soccer. First Stuttgart then Liverpool. I'm a tid-bit more Interested to hear how his LFC stint goes. Stuttgart seems like a good training ground. At Anfield I have more doubts than questions. But his speed mixed with LFC's midfield youth may be a good combination. We'll see. Either way, he likely keeps himself in offseason favor Klinsmann's request to keep working.

Part three: Paul Christensen, a young Keeper in the Sounders Academy system made his appearance with the US U-17's today vs the attack-talented French National Team. US drew 2-2. A great result for our US youth and an even better result for the Sounders. Christensen's move up the ladder in US soccer circles has been fast. Apparently he loud and firm with his backline. Keller is not claiming influence yet. But if Christensen keeps moving up the ladder Keller may have to take credit for establishing the boisterous tradition.

Call from Arlo. Tyson Wahl free kick vs New England. Special for me, as this was my first time standing with ECS. So, I'm just out of sight but behind the goal. on U-17's
