Very odd.....

Ian Murdock the founder of Linux distribution Debian, is dead at the age of 42. He died on the night of 28th December 2015.
Docker, the current employer of Ian Murdock, broke the news in a blog post. The blog posts doesn’t say what caused the sudden death of Ian.

The life of ‘ian’ of Debian
Ian Murdock created the Debian project when he was a student at Purdue University. He named Debian after his then-girlfriend Debra (Deb) and himself (Ian). While Debra and Ian got separated, Debian lived on to become one of the most successful Open Source projects ever.
Ian has had contributed to a number of projects. He founded Progeny, a commercial Linux company. Later on he became the CTO of Linux Foundation. In 2003, he joined Sun Microsystem to work on a Project Indiana which resulted in OpenSolaris operating system.
He was working for SalesForce before joining Docker.

Foul play?
Though there is no confirmed news on whether it was a natural death or a suicide or something else, there is a sense of mystery surrounding his death.
Ian was posting some really weird tweets from his account on 28th December. He was mentioning police abuse and threatened to suicide.
Ian Murdock Suicide tweets
Initially it was speculated that his Twitter account might have been compromised. But with this unfortunate event, there is a possibility of a foul play.
His Twitter account @imurdock doesn’t exist anymore but screenshots of his tweets were saved by some Reddit users. Here are most of those tweets: (click the link of the article to see them)

Another Aaron Swartz?
This unfortunate event reminds me of a similar event few years back when computer wizard Aaron Swartz committed suicide at the tender age of 26. He took this step after continuous harrassment by fedaral agency.
Rest in peace
It’s a sad and shocking news for the entire open source community. May his soul rest in peace. His contribution to the tech community can never be forgotten.

MPAA e-mail showcases anti-Google smear campaign

The memo says, "We propose working with MPAA (Vans), Comcast, and NewsCorp (Bill Guidera) to see about working with a PR firm to create an attack on Google (and others who are resisting AG efforts to address online piracy). This PR firm can be funded through a nonprofit dedicated to IP issues... After the Today Showsegment, you want to have a large investor of Google (George can help us determine that) come forward and say that Google needs to change its behavior/demand reform. Next, you want NewsCorp to develop and place an editorial in the WSJ [Wall Street Journal] emphasizing that Google's stock will lose value in the face of a sustained attack by AGs and noting some of the possible causes of action we have developed."
Start with "live buys" of illegal goods on The Today Show, then get a WSJ editorial.

The 2 who made our sandwiches were great people. Customer oriented, friendly, talkative. Gave my kids and I smiles on a rainy day.

Moved close to this dealer so decided to get service there. Asked for an oil change and to look at the rear bumper coming loose from a pin on my Regal GS. Went to pick it up and they said I didn't tell them about the bumper....BS. Put in a second service request online.....they said they never got it. Called this last time about both bumpers now coming loose from pins. While I was handing over the keys, the body guy was standing there and was asked about the bumpers. He just kept saying there is nothing he could do about it, over and over. Then when I picked up the car, the service guy had the balls enough to tell me it had been in a wreck. What! EDIT: Ok, so my car did end up in a cosmetic fender bender. Only the bumper covers were affected. You may say, "well there you go"...wrong. I took it to McKinney Buick because my heated drivers seat went out and there was moisture in my drivers side tail light. While there, I decided to throw in the bumper cover check to see if anything could be done. Seat is heating now, tail light replaced, and guess what....the bumper covers are tightened up again. Not completely flush, but almost, at least they put in the effort. More than I can say for Heritage. Seems McKinney Buick likes to take care of their Buick owners unlike Heritage, who bobs and weaves to get out of warranty repair or even be a bit helpful. The day after I get my car, I noticed 3 gouges in my drivers side door. Hmmmm, tech must have had a tool in his back pocket. Take it back and they say they have a service that repairs the plastic. I voice my concern over the repair job lasting, but we will see. Ha! After I make a call to see if all is a go, my service guy, Darryl says they went ahead and ordered me a whole new panel! Go to McKinney Buick. They care and Darryl has been a big help.

do not go here for a loan. I get payday bridge loans and pay it back in less than 2 weeks. used to be about 10% payment back, now it's like 25%. took out a $400 loan and payed it back in 10 days...$98 interest fee. also, they called me 4 times in those 10 days. lame. go to ACE.

These guys are in collusion with Heritage Buick to bob and weave their way out of warranty work. I would go anywhere else.

DO NOT SHOP FRY'S IN PLANO. DO NOT SHOP FRY'S PERIOD. Wow....I should have read reviews before buying the main Christmas present for my son, a quadcopter. Long story short, on the first flight, it hit a wall and fell to the carpet, 10 seconds max. Propeller broken AND the propeller protector. Took it to the store, they don't take items back that are broke and WE have to send to some online retailer to be replaced. My son is upset. I complain to Fry's corporate and they have the manager of the store call me. Guy is filled with excuses and even goes so far as to blame my son and I for the subpar quadcopter breaking. Two of the better gems were, "you need to set the trim before flying" and "they aren't designed to hit anything". Well genius, how are we supposed to determine the trim without flying and how in the heck are they not ever going to hit anything! DO NOT SHOP FRY'S IN PLANO. DO NOT SHOP FRY'S PERIOD.
