I had to surrender all my electronics, obtain an interim security clearance, and agree to have my notes reviewed before the Air Force would let me see the secret footage from their drone fleet. Little did I know I could've just stood underneath the Predator with a cheap receiver and seen everything the drone saw.

Just because something isn't protected in a particular way doesn't mean it isn't properly classified. Also, I'm guessing you aren't routinely standing underneath when US military drones are flying overhead.
Dave: I'm not routinely underneath, no. But the people we would least like to have the footage are.
