heard this when i was 9 years old on long island, I was over at the new kids house across the street and his older brother was turning us onto some of his favorite bands first we heard some skynrd and zepp then forhat  then he says you wanna hear the best drummer in the world and we listened to working man to solo on this album   I was hooked,   as an american i can say not many people were that into rush   I however was a fanaiic   took up the guitar and learned every song then moved on to learning the other greats.

Actually, no, not quite   the first album to have any keyboard at all was 2112, and it was played by Hugh Syme, just on one song, according to credits.   Geddy learned the mini moog just prior to the AFTK recording sessions, as I understand.   He wasn't previously a keyboardist.    As for better, best, worst material --- everybody has their opinion. Some people love the 80's material, and hate the 90's stuff, or the material from the last 15 years.   How could any band with such a huge catalog, that does something different with every release, please everybody?  I knew a guy in high school who had been a fan pre-Moving Pictures, and was very disappointed by it.  The only song he really liked was Witch Hunt. And Signals was a similar experience for me.--   until I grasped better what it is that they do.
