Let the world wake up around you, watch as the sun rises and the mist slowly clears. Feel the warmth as it filters through your skin and takes the chill from your soul. See you breath as it leaves your mouth as vapour, rising and swirling creating patterns as you breathe.
You're alive, you are living, enjoy your life, enjoy you.
This is a photo of the nebula NGC 6302 taken by the Hubble Space Telescope, otherwise known as the "Butterfly Nebula" This nebula is located 3,800 light-years away in the constellation Scorpius.
Connecting the wings of the Butterfly Nebula is a dying star that is unleashing waves of ultraviolet radiation making the previously ejected gases glow. Though the surface temperature of this star is estimated to be around 400,000 degrees Fahrenheit, the star itself is hidden behind a large doughnut shaped ring of dust that appears as the dark band pinching the nebula's center.
This ring was created when the star evolved into a red-giant, and cast off gas from its equator at a relatively slow speed...estimated as low as 20,000 miles per hour. Other gasses were then ejected at higher speeds perpendicular to the ring, producing the "wings" of the butterfly-shaped structure. As the star heated up, stellar winds traveling at greater than 2 million miles per hour carved through the previous wing structure, further altering its shape.
The reddish outer edges are due mostly to light emitted by nitrogen. The white-colored regions are a result of fast-moving gas overtaking and colliding with slow-moving gas that left the star at an earlier time producing violent shock waves.

"Hope is a very thin diet." -- Thomas Shawell
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
― Martin Luther King Jr., A Testament of Hope: The Essential Writings and Speeches
" The truth may be puzzling. It may take some work to grapple with. It may be counterintuitive. It may contradict deeply held prejudices. It may not be consonant with what we desperately want to be true. But our preferences do not determine what's true. We have a method, and that method helps us to reach not absolute truth, only asymptotic approaches to the truth — never there, just closer and closer, always finding vast new oceans of undiscovered possibilities. Cleverly designed experiments are the key." -- "Wonder and Skepticism", Carl Sagan
I am not sure how to describe myself. I guess when it comes to politics I am independent (or apolitical), but sound more social liberal most of the time when responding to such things. My husband and I are US veterans. In the end though I don't believe in any particular government or anarchy, and I really don't like politics. I just prefer the facts first over opinion.
I respect science and religious views in the aspects respect is earned. I am not sure if the two should mix in most ways. As such in cases of human history in it becoming a disaster to do so.
I am an agender ( or gender neutral) grey asexual, sex positive, grey romantic. When I must identify other than agender I prefer to be referred as a tomboy.
I enjoy art of all sorts, and what may be considered nerdy or geeky things. Steam punk, cyber punk, and gothic subculture in general I find fascinating. Grey muzzle a bit too in intrests.
Mostly a bit of a determinist and possibly other times leaning toward Compatibilism when given such things as philosophy questions and debate.
Freethinking secular humanist, skeptic, agnostic atheist, and an apatheist as well.
I enjoy learning new things and exploring cultures. I find critical thought and even imagination important in exploring the world around me.
Love the way that nature and the universe works even in all the chaos. The rest I think just gets complicated.
