Skals Boarding School visited an Orphanage in Zimbabwe near the Antelope Park Resort to donate our #SafepadTM – a unique reusable sanitary pad with an antimicrobial treatment. Skals Boarding School made a fundraising campaign on Facebook that raised 4000 DKK to support menstrual hygiene management in Zimbabwe. The money raised was used to buy re-usable pads #Safepad. The pads were distributed to girls and women in the Orphanage near the Antelope Park, together with an instruction on how to use Safepad.

Emilie Abildgaard Pedersen is a student at Skals Boarding School and she was happy to tell us stories from their visit in Zimbabwe. Emilie told us that she talked with a young girl whose face was half full of scars from acid, that her own father threw on her face, because she didn’t behave properly; "It was hard to listen to. But it felt so good to see the girls lighting up with smiles as they received the Safepads".

Another student from Skals Boarding School talked with a young woman in the Orphanage who was 18 years old; "The young woman was like any other teenager in that age. She liked to talk about boyfriends, parties and alcohol, but she also dreamed to live in a country like Denmark, where we have so much freedom compared to the girls and women in Zimbabwe."

Thanks to Skals Boarding School for their fantastic work support girls and women in Zimbabwe.

Danish Design Award 2018 ... and the winner is #SafepadTM !!
We are ecstatic and immensely proud to be announced as winners in the category “Daily Life” with our innovative SafepadTM - an antimicrobial treated reusable pad. We hope this will draw more attention towards the importance of proper Menstrual Hygiene Management Globally.

The Danish Design Award jury says about Safepad™: “In many places around the world, myths and taboos surrounding menstruation have unfortunate consequences, sometimes making girls and women stay home from school or work during their period. One of the causes is lack of access to sanitary pads or proper sanitation. The reusable sanitary pad addresses this problem and offers a sterile and durable solution. An innovative product that prevents infections while also helping to prevent the social isolation of girls and women in third-world countries.”

“Safepad™ is our solution to improve the quality of life of girls and woman globally. It’s the first time an intelligent hygiene pad is introduced to the global market and we are committed to serving woman in need of new and better alternatives”, said Trine Angeline Sig, CEO of Real Relief from DDA 2018 award ceremony at, the head quarters of the Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) in Copenhagen.

“Danish Design Award (DDA) is the major annual Danish design event, that celebrates the best design solutions and highlights how design can make a difference for our society, we are therefore immensely proud to receive the recognition presented with this award”, said Torben Holm Larsen, Technical director of Real Relief from DDA 2018, DI Copenhagen.

Since I was a very young girl, I dreamed of being a singer. I practised hard and performed with confidence. People said that I could become a star. But when I got my period, I felt dirty. My confidence dropped. I didn’t want to perform anymore.
Today, we had a session on menstrual hygiene management at school. I learned that periods are not a bad thing. They are completely normal and actually a sign of good health. That restored my confidence. From now on, I know that my period won’t stop me from following my dream. From now on, I will accept #NoMoreLimits

School is great fun. I have learned amazing things there. Books help me imagine new worlds, and give me the wings to fly to such places. I have always felt this way. But then I got my period. I missed five days of school every month. I struggled to keep up. School began to feel burdensome and the books started to weigh heavier.
Today, we had a session on menstrual hygiene management at school. I learned that periods are not a bad thing. They are completely normal and actually a sign of good health. I also learned that I don’t have to miss school because of them. From now on, my period won’t stop me from going to school. From now on, I will accept #NoMoreLimits

My mother is a superwoman - she manages the home, cooks and cleans, takes care of my brother, sister, and me, and goes to work. Except for when she has her period.
My sister is a superwoman - she gets the best grades, sings beautifully and even beats the boys at football. Except for when she has her period.
I am a superwoman because, after a session on menstrual hygiene management at school, I know that even if periods may be uncomfortable, they are normal and healthy. I will tell my mom and sister, so from now on they can be superwomen all month long. There are #NoMoreLimits

My brother and I are just a year apart. We grew up doing everything together. I was much better at football than him. One day, I got my period, and everything changed. I was told to do things differently. I could not go out and play with the boys the way I used to.
Today, we had a session on menstrual hygiene management at school. I learned that periods are not a bad thing. They are completely normal and actually a sign of good health. I also learned that I don’t have to change anything because of them. I can even play football. From now on, my period won’t stop me from playing. From now on, I will accept #NoMoreLimits.

Hyld Menstruationen!

Kom og hør bl.a. Asar A H Jaradat, opfinderen af PadPals appen, fortælle om Menstruations Hygiejne med mere.

Our colleague Roisa had an educational discussion with SIGNS TV about Menstrual Hygiene Management reaching out to disabled girls and women.

Together with Ambassador Ashura #AshuraWithHandShake we are breaking the silence by enlightening disabled communities about Menstrual Hygiene Management including our #SafepadTM - a unique re-usable sanitary pad with a special antimicrobial treatment.

Hopefully the information - using sign language - will reach out to deaf communities so that deaf girls too can feel informed and equipped to handle their periods.

Our dear colleague Rachael visited Oletepes Primary School, where the County Senator’s Office of Kajiado donated our #SafePadTM to the students. The girls were very happy to receive our reusable sanitary pad that will help them to attend school every day in the future.

Rachael also educated the women of Kajiado County together with the wife of the Senator about the benefits of #SafepadTM during Menstrual Hygiene Management. The women were happy to receive our reusable sanitary pad, but also to become educated in them.
