Power of Gentleness: Gentleness is a power of the soul that we need when faced with difficult and challenging situations.  Often we resort to controlling and harsh speech or decisions when we are under pressure.  The power to be gentle will enable us to interact during challenges in a manner that is more likely to be heard by our beloved.

As Mother’s Day is here again it seems timely to remember the Mother of us All, the spirit of all creation. Whether we call Her the Shekinah, or Narayani, Isis, Mother Mary, Sophia:- She is the Great Goddess, bringer of joy, hope, a refuge and shelter to our souls. Known by countless names, the essence of the Divine feminine is the aliveness we feel when we bounce out of bed, enthused and energized for our day. It is the kindness shown when no-one is looking, the wag in a dog’s tail, the source of inspiration when we are at our wit’s end. The sea, the forests, the air we breathe and everything around us is filled with Her blissful radiance.

When I connect with Our Glorious Mother, there is a tingling excitement, a sense of all-possibility. There is a natural feeling of awe and reverence.  I am bathed in so much energy, with lashings of life force floating all around and through me.

Creation is more than our physical senses can detect.  The thin material veneer we think of as the substantial objective real world actually contains the Divine Mother as Guhye, She who is hiding in everything. When we approach Her as devotees with love with respect, when we look with our sixth senses, She is ever present and will give her blessings to us. Without a proper attitude, we will never find her.

As spiritual traditions go, there is no dull, guilt laden, stay invisible, misogynist dogma or pious clap-trap here. As a devotee of the Divine feminine, I love the joy, the invitation to be gloriously who you are meant to be, to enjoy the richness and aliveness of what is possible here on planet Earth, and to see everything as interconnected, attempting bit by bit to come into wholeness.

Attunement to the mother principle is an attunement to life and love, to light and beauty. She is also wild and at times demanding, dealing the odd blow to our egos, extracting us from our semi-consciousness, and urging us to discover what amazing beings we really are.

She is too vast to belong to any particular religion. Her essence is pure love. Call her by whichever names resonate with you and she will come. This Mother’s Day, give your mum lots of hugs. And remember Our Divine Mother, whose essence is to be found wherever you are.

Below you will find some more names of the Goddess, which you can call on as you require her assistance in any part of life.

Quan Yin

Hecate
Guardian of the cross-roads. Invoke her when you need to know which path to follow in life and to help you make the highest vibrational choices.

Blessings of Divine Mother Love,
Shakti Durga

Namaste,

This Saturday, 25 April, we will be commemorating Anzac Day at the Abode of Peace in Cooranbong. For those who seek peace, sometimes we may think that gentle love alone will suffice. My view is that this is simplistic, and that real love is actually a healthy mixture of discipline or boundaries, with big hearted compassion, giving and serving. In kabbalah this is the tension between Chesed (enabling, saying yes, sharing, expanding) and Gevorah (stopping, saying no, having boundaries, contracting)  the balance of which results in love/wisdom.

In the Bhagavad Gita and other sacred texts it says that to allow evil is as bad as doing evil: as a culture we have a duty to have healthy boundaries, restrain wrongdoers and to enforce laws so that innocent people are protected. This way, the corrupting and negative influences, which really do exist in creation, are prevented from staging a take over.

Anzac Day is the perfect opportunity to ask for blessings upon soldiers and law enforcers of all kinds. It requires a high degree of training, refinement and wisdom to consistently get a wise balance of individual rights and collective boundaries and the job of these brave people must not be easy. Our prayers and good intentions will help them.

We will explore the notion that soldiers and police would have a lot less work to do if we all embodied the highest spiritual attributes of love, peace, forgiveness, gratitude and the will to do good.

Even amongst the best of people, misunderstandings can lead to conflict. Something trivial can start a very large argument or even estrangement from family or friends.  As light-workers we can learn to transmute and nullify the energy of conflict. Instead of it floating around the world, merging with all the other conflict energy of other people of the planet, and coalescing like a big cloud we can disintegrate it bit by bit by concerted effort. This way the energy clears harmlessly through spiritual practices, pujas, rituals and ceremonies, instead of having to clear by being discharged like lightning in a storm, causing cathartic world events, and in some cases: war.

We will meditate, going into our hearts, through the vortex which joins us into the Universe, and recollect all of the little fragments of anger, judgment, blame, greed, rage, entitlement and ego that we have scattered about, either consciously or unconsciously. We will offer it up for transmutation on a sacred golden plate, courtesy of the Christ consciousness, which can neutralize the energy and convert it into a liquid golden light, creating the energy that sits within peace.

After collecting all of this transmuted energy we will flow into the Earth from above in our light form, and pour the transmuted energy of peace onto everyone who is connected to a major world conflict, regardless of which side they are on.

And of course we will offer blessings upon our armed forces, and upon all those who have given their lives to protect others.

We sometimes take law enforcement and peace for granted in our lives. May we always have gratitude for the incredible efforts, courage and bravery shown by those who protect us all, in the face of unthinkable hostility and danger.

I hope that you, and any of your relatives and friends in the armed services or other front line defenses can join us at the Abode of Peace for satsang. If you cannot attend, why don't you meditate along with us and add your energy to peace.

Om Shanti,

Shakti Durga

Power of Grace:  Grace is love made visible through noble, sincere, refined, considerate action.  It helps people to feel comfortable and at ease.  We are thoughtful, empathetic and attentive to the needs of others.  The power of grace lets us slow down and do things at a natural speed instead of rushing.   Grace is the wind beneath our wings when we need it most.
