No wonder the average life expectancy was 40 (and from watching this, I would say that was an overly optimistic estimate).

+future widow Exactly.  The majority of my ancestors lived to be well into their nineties until the mid-1900s.  They did, however, lose many children.

I love my VW Beetle TDI. What I didn't love was getting it serviced. Every time I would drive to the dealership, I would just feel nauseous about how much money I was going to hemorrhage for service for my "very special car", as the dealership's service manager called it (the only thing missing was the ominous lightning and thunder after his statement a la "Young Frankenstein"). Then I found this place. I immediately felt good vibes when I got there, which was reinforced when I met Darryl, the service guy. He was up front and honest, which was a refreshing change from what I had experienced before. I just brought my Beetle back for his 40,000 mile maintenance. I knew from reviewing the VW TDI blog that this is an expensive service. I paid $700 for much better service at VeeDub than what the dealership would have given me (I would've had to pay the dealership $1200-$1500). They took their time (which I never see as a negative because to me, that means they are making sure the job is being done right) and I hung out in their nice waiting area along with other friendly VW people. I always drive away from VeeDub with a great peace of mind. I've never had to go back in between any service they've done for my car because something went wrong. I would highly recommend this place to anyone with a VW.
