In this video, I set out on the kayak for a mixed species trip combining fishing at anchor with drift fishing using a mix of bait and lures. The species caught include Mackerel, Thornback Rays, some good Squid, and more.

Bubble float fishing in shallow water with live shrimp or prawn is an awesome deadly way to fish for Sea Bass. In this video, I look at reasons to use the bubble float, the types of floats, and the set up, and show the method working in a session where I catch sixteen Bass in 3½ to 4 hours fishing. In addition, there are other tips and pointers such as unhooking a deep hooked fish and handling Bass.

Fishing is fishing and sometimes things do not go to plan as regards the fishing and this was one of those trips when I set out to target Bass but had to improvise to at least catch something and avoid what was looking like a blank day.

The Mackerel are in and spinning or lure fishing is a great sporty way of catching them. I head to a rock mark on a beautiful summers morning to have some fun spinning for Mackerel. The video contains tips and tactics for beginners and in addition, there is a nice little bonus catch?

Something different this time as a little extra video in between the main videos. I had no time for talking in this one. Just had to get up early and head down to the rocks for a short session spinning for a Mackerel breakfast. I hope that the video will tell the story. WARNING: contains the dispatching of a fish with a priest!

Cod is probably the UK’s most popular fish to eat. In this video, I catch a Cod from the kayak, fillet, and bake the Cod using a simple but very tasty recipe then serve with new potatoes from the vegetable garden. Bon appétit!

Ultra light tackle fishing otherwise known as LRF (light rock fishing) targeting mainly mini species with small hooks and lures but also catching larger fish, has become popular in recent years. In this video, I first head out onto the rocks to catch whatever I can, then fish a rock pool for mini rock pool species such as Gobies and catch a sought after and rare Giant Goby with underwater footage.

In this video, I go through ten Sea Bass lures that I feel I have had the most success with over the last 30 years. I talk about the conditions I like to fish them along with the rigging of some of the lures. The lures include Red Gill Original Sand Eel, Rapala J13, Bass Bullet (and the alternative), Maria Angel Kiss 140, Tackle House Feed Shallow 128, IMA Komomo SF 125, IMA Salt Skimmer 110 F, Fish Arrow J 5”, Slug-Go, and the OSP DoLive Stick 6”.

Thirteen to fifteen foot fishing kayaks are heavy and awkward to lift and a question I am often asked is how I load my fishing kayak on my car roof. Although there are devices on the market to assist you known as kayak loaders, I have devised my own D.I.Y method that may not be suitable to all vehicles but works for my vehicle. The video answers that question, “How do you load your fishing kayak on your car roof”.

One of the challenges when fishing a large reef for Pollack is finding the fish as they are not always all over the reef and move around. In this video, I head out on the kayak to a large reef to lure fish for Pollack and look at ways that help to find where the fish may be at certain times of the tide.
