Waalre - Diemen
I'm sad returning from this restaurant. For a fish restaurant no more than 100 yards from the harbor filled with fishing boats, there hardly is any sea fish on the menu, only snapper and cod (and calamari, shrimp, oysters and clams, but I was looking for fish this night). Looking for something more exciting than those two I ordered the clams, which came with garlic butter, rice and veggies and an appetizer (clam chowder in my case). The clam chowder had way too much garlic in it and was too salty as well. I ordered a glass of white wine to accompany my meal, a chardonnay, expecting a simple, crisp white. This, sadly, turned out to be very sweet, which made me wonder why on earth they would serve this wine in a fish restaurant!? Then came my main course, which arrived mere seconds after the waitress took away my clam chowder. This can only mean the plate was waiting for me already. The garlic butter thankfully came in a bowl. It was so salty and strong with garlic that using it in any measure with the clams would overpower the taste of the clams. The clams themselves were OK, boiled in salt water, they obviously weren't meant to be eaten by themselves. For a meal that ran me $30 it's on the more expensive end I've partaken of here in the US and so far the most disappointing.

Prima rijschool. Ik had een ervaren en duidelijke instructeur. Het slagingspercentage kom ook overeen met de kwaliteit en eerlijkheid van de instructeur. Hij laat je niet op examen gaan als je daar nog niet klaar voor bent.
