Excellent local French with delicious steak frites among other things. The owner, Patrick has his own charm which is all part of the French experience and you will learn to love!

Great experience -- every one of the dishes we had was tasty and well cooked. Staff were incredibly attentive (almost too much so!) -- maybe the other reviewers had different waiters but I'm usually very sensitive to poor service and I didn't feel that at all here. Also does a good job of actually doing authentic French dishes. Would come back.

The owner is dispicable. I ate a burger here a few years ago and was distinctly overwhelmed. This place is 2 mins from my flat and I only just went back today due to being off work, it being so close and dog friendly (or so I thought- I had my 5kg calm dog with me) and not feeling like cooking lunch myself. Even so, I hated to give this guy business after an old lodger and good friend of mine worked for him for 1 month about 1.5 years ago and was never paid a penny for it. He told her that he didn't pay his staff for 2 weeks because too many people just left before then (isn't this a clue about how bad he is?), so she would be paid after staying for 2 weeks and she would get her first 2 weeks' pay only when she left. Obviously this is not only illegal, but it was also a lie because she stayed longer than 2 weeks and was never paid for anything. She was too scared of him to try to get her money, and a colleague of her's ended up getting his only because he argued with the owner and demanded to be paid or he would report him. She begged me not to go speak to him or report him ti HMRC because she was afraid. Well, today I have finally done both. Better late than never. After asking for a burger without mayonaisse which came with mayonaisse, I told them about it and asked for napkins to wipe it off. The chef said he would take it back and change the bun. The owner then came over to me, and you would expect an apology if anything, but instead he told me to remove my 5kg dog from the sofa of the 'dog friendly' area even though she was on a clean white bed that I had brought for her and not moving because she just had a surgery yesterday. I was shocked that he made this into a situation and eventually told him where he could put his burger, as well as what I thought of his illegal business practices outlined above. He was swearing at me and followed me out the door and down the pavement shouting so that I had to tell him that he was going to get a kick in the balls if he didn't step away from me. He swiftly backed off and I told him I would be reporting him to HMRC because I knew he didn't give his poor, terrified employees contracts or pay them in many cases. You cannot imagine how scared the current waitress looked from the moment I walked in the door. He told me that was fine and to never come back. I advised that I would not, and that I woud make sure many others never did as well. So yeah, the owner is a tax-avoiding and slave-driving theif, and the food is mediocre at best, that is if it comes the way you have ordered it. If that, along with an argumentative and rude atmosphere, is your thing then by all means you should go to Le Pot Lyonnais.

I am French and i can tell you that this restaurant is the shame of French food! I ve just read at the top of this page, which is writing in french that the owner of the restaurant (Patrick) is really rude to his staff, he always puts his staff down and one of them would like to stop working there but Patrick told him that he will not be paying him his 2 week's wages!!!!! and that he will do everything to have the law on his side!!!! what a b******!!! he doesn t pay the extra-hours that his staff are doing and they are doing sometimes nearly 60 hours a week!!!! J espere que son restaurant ne tiendra pas longpts...

The most rude Manager/Owner !!! Although the food was good this was negated by the Owner's total lack of manners. He really should not be working in catering as clearly he does not enjoy it. His rude, abrupt,and unwelcoming manner left out party all a bit shocked and awed and other tables also commented on this. Then they had the gall to include a service charge in the bill. This place stands out to us for all the wrong reasons. Haven't encountered this in years.

Great food but one very rude owner!! I wish I had refused to pay his service charge which he had included in the bill.

Come to this restaurant with friends spuriously a nice place, I ended up being badly received by the restaurant owner, obnoxious and arrogant antithetic ungrateful and in the end, I ended up apologizing to the people who accompanied me that have led to this place seemed friendly! Never come here again!!!
