"You would never say, ‘I can’t read.’ That’s just unacceptable in society,” Saujani says. “But it’s acceptable in society for a girl to say, ‘I hate math’ or ‘I’m not good at math.’” This needs to change. According to this article, women today represent just 12% of all computer science graduates. In 1984, they represented 37%. Disturbing. You don't need to be in IT to help change this. Support and recognize the women you know who are in science and technology and encourage your daughters to pursue STEM education.

"With personalization, simple is the new sexy." A good reminder not to overlook what you can achieve with the use of simple data fields as opposed to complex algorithms.

So happy to share that +Plymouth Rock Assurance  has officially set the Guinness World Records title for most pledges to a safety campaign. And it seems that our fight against distracted driving IS having an impact. Results from our latest study show the number of New Jersey drivers polled who park their cars before texting has increased from 27 percent in 2013 to 55 percent in 2014. Kudos to my colleagues in New Jersey and New England who have demonstrated that hard work, dedication and big dreams can make a difference. And congratulations to everyone who took the pledge for setting a Guinness World Record!

What are you doing now? At this very second? What if I told you that one minute from now you could be a part of an attempt to set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD® ... and perhaps even save a life. I'm proud to be working on this +Plymouth Rock Assurance  campaign and hope that you will take a moment to sign our distracted driving safety pledge and share it with your networks. Help us to take a stand and change the culture...

Great to have the chance to experiment with the collaborative opportunities that the new communities feature will provide!- Thanks +Sarah Evans!

Regarding tips & tools to make work easier, I'd say the most important thing is so simple. Stay calm, respectful and nice! Your team (those you report to, work with and report to you), your vendors, your clients, your media contacts... people will ultimately determine your success on the job. People can make situations so much easier or more difficult than they need be. And in high pressure situations it can be easy to forget to say please, thank you and "great job." Work hard, work smart and never forget to work nice :)

On a separate note,I noticed my Gmail has been getting all of the comments and believe I was able to change that in settings thought I would pass along the tip. This community will no doubt have a lot of GREAT comments that I want to read, and for me it will be a bit easier to manage in one thread!

Wow. My +Verizon Wireless Droid kept me connected during Superstorm Sandy. And without power I know I used my Droid a lot. Now Verizon is helping out all of us who relied on their outstanding service by waiving usage charges during the storm. In a time when price gouging and crisis marketing are the norm, I am blown away. Thank you Verizon. It's been a rough 2 weeks, but you've given me reason to smile.
