A school district's community in Pennsylvania is feeling divided about the decision to require a background check for all parents that volunteer for the school. Many feel that the background check process is deterring parents from volunteering, which is causing a gap in parents helping in the classroom.

What are your thoughts? Should parents that volunteer in schools still be required to consent to a background check, even when the volunteer levels have dropped due to the mandate?
