Another new route on Google Maps...

There's now a rather regal new route to discover on +Google Maps in England. Next time you need to plan a journey between Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle then look out for the Royal Carriage: http://goo.gl/EVICxw

What other routes have you spotted across the UK?

Introducing the Google Self-Driving Car Project.

Fully autonomous driving has always been the goal of the +Google Self-Driving Car Project, because we think this could improve road safety and help lots of people who can't drive.

We're now developing prototypes of vehicles that have been designed from the ground up to drive themselves - just push a button and they'll take you where you want to go.

We'll use these vehicles to test our software and learn what it will really take to bring this technology into the world.

Applications open today at g.co/impactchallenge. Ten finalists will have their projects judged by the public and our panel of judges: Peter Jones, Emma Freud, Jimmy Wales, Helen Goulden, Matt Brittin and Jacquelline Fuller, with four winners taking home a £500,000 grant and mentoring to deliver on their projects. Six runners up will receive £200,000 and mentorship.

Oh, and we left one of these babies behind too. +Peak District National Park Authority, hope you have fun hiking with it! Does it come with a pocket for the cereal bars?

Our famous Peak District trails will be the first countryside trails to feature on Google this summer.

Google are kindly lending us their backpack ‘Trekker’ which records for Google ‘Streetview’. A pioneering first for UK national parks! Only Angkor Wat and the Grand Canyon have had this opportunity before: http://goo.gl/SA7ji9

Images show the 'Trekker' being tested today on the Monsal viaduct.

Creative and honest tasting menu with great wine pairings in a familial neighbourhood restaurant. A gem for very special occasions.

Very traditional, no frills Vietnamese. Fresh, tasty and plentiful food, fast service, no decoration. It's always a good sign when all the locals eat there..
