Oh, and we left one of these babies behind too. +Peak District National Park Authority, hope you have fun hiking with it! Does it come with a pocket for the cereal bars?

Our famous Peak District trails will be the first countryside trails to feature on Google this summer.

Google are kindly lending us their backpack ‘Trekker’ which records for Google ‘Streetview’. A pioneering first for UK national parks! Only Angkor Wat and the Grand Canyon have had this opportunity before: http://goo.gl/SA7ji9

Images show the 'Trekker' being tested today on the Monsal viaduct.

So, +Google UK, let's talk about the hard things.
How many Streetview backpacks finished at the bottom of Great British waterways to bring us these captures?

Discover the canals of England & Wales...

Take a moment today to walk along parts of a 200 year old network of canals and waterway towpaths that stretch across parts of the UK.

The Canal & River Trust  used a +Google Maps Trekker fitted with a 15-angle lens camera, taking 360 degree pictures every 2.5 seconds to capture footage of over 130 miles of waterways.

#StreetView  imagery now available includes: Bingley 5-rise locks, one of the Seven Wonders of the Waterways, and the steepest lock flight on the network; Little Venice in central London; and the Grade I listed World Heritage Site around Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in North Wales.

Whoah..
On a sidenote, why are most stunning outdoors pictures dangerous as hell to take?

Celebrating the Peak District

Today on google.co.uk we're celebrating the 63rd birthday of the Peak District National Park with a special #GoogleDoodle .

The Peak District, the oldest National park in the UK, spans northern Derbyshire, and covers parts of Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Staffordshire, and South and West Yorkshire.

Follow the +Peak District National Park Authority on Google+ to find photographs, videos and stories from the park.

BEST DOODLE EVER.
UK friends, I don't know how you can consider your childhood to be complete if you did not get to read Gaston Lagaffe as kids.

M'enfin ?!

Delicious, simple, plentiful dishes at a reasonable price / 1 drink and main course for 15 euros - with a smile

Very traditional, no frills Vietnamese. Fresh, tasty and plentiful food, fast service, no decoration. It's always a good sign when all the locals eat there..
