I organized a session called, "Crowdsourcing Methodologies throughout the Survey Lifecycle" for the upcoming Federal Committee on Statistical Methodology Research Conference.  Check out the list of presentations on p. 19 of the advance program.  It should be good stuff.

If you could ask a question, what would you ask? All are invited to enter the 2012 Research Challenge. Winners will have their questions included on an in-person survey of 1,600 Chicagoans this Spring and will receive the first right to publish the results. Free data...does it get any better than that?

Way to go, Mother Nature. The one time you decide to make it rain (first time in like 1 month) is during festivities on the 4th.

Costco is one of the few brands I am loyal to. Great store.

I had the green curry and it was quite good. I picked 2 out of 3 stars for spiciness and I don't think I could go much hotter. They bring the heat (which is great)! This place and the Thai House are the two best Thai restaurants I've found in North Raleigh.

Best hotel I've ever stayed at. Our room was well laid out, our room was quiet, beds were very comfortable, and the free breakfast food was great (including fresh omelets made to-order). Costco has a deal with this hotel chain too, which lowered our costs.

Great hole-in-the-wall for authentic Mexican food. Menu is in Spanish, so be prepared. Also, I believe that they only take cash. Had a chicken burrito and it was delicious. Food is very inexpensive.

Had a great stay. There was a softball tournament the same weekend we stayed there, so the pool was swarming with kids. Hotel was generally loud and busy during the day, but it was quiet at night. I have a general rule about staying on the top floor of Residence Inn's because there never seems to be much sound proofing between floors (i.e. you hear your upstairs neighbors). We were on the top floor and did not hear any neighbors. Mattresses were very comfortable and felt like they were new. Breakfast was the standard Residence Inn breakfast (powdered scrambled eggs, sausages, cereals, and bagels). Not as good as breakfast at a Hyatt House, but not bad. Overall I would stay here again.

Beautiful looking hotel; however, the buildings need updating. The ceiling above us creaked VERY loudly whenever our upstairs neighbor walked around. It did not help that they came home at 1:00 AM either, waking us up. It was not the neighbor's fault, though. The hotel structure needs soundproofing and renovation. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels, and this was hands-down the loudest one ever. Like another reviewer, we were offered "free parking" as a result of the issues. If you are going to stay here, make sure you get a room on the top floor. I generally like Hyatt hotels, but I will look elsewhere next time I am in Santa Barbara.

Great food (had the breakfast burrito), great coffee, and a wonderful gardent in the back. Very reasonable prices. It was a very nice way to start my day.
