Well, it's not a national park but Salato Wildlife Center in Frankfort, KY deserves some recognition so for my make this week, I followed in the footsteps of another CLMOOCer who wrote about a day with grandma. These pics are mine and are a culmination of a couple visits with my grandkids.  I think I will continue to work on it to add more nonfiction information to the mix.

Okay took Kevin H.'s challenge to #rangerme  I used http://faceonface.net/en/ and searched for park ranger. It took several rounds to find this one. Upload was easy- and I just used the snipping tool to take a pic once it was done. I didn't even have to sign in!  Sadly this is a beer commercial and I hate beer. Let's pretend it's for vodka. ;)

OKaaaay.... Trying something new- I knew that Twine saved in the browser only- but that's like the Charlie Brown Teacher Voice to me however after some searching I found philome.la a site that hosts the Twines for free!!!!!!! So let's see if you can view it now....... you may have to log in with your Twitter account- but it's totally free.

Not sure this will actually work; but I created a choose your own adventure story using Twine. It was REALLY easy and with minor trial and error ( I used {{  instead of [[ at first) I developed a story with a message for my students..... Hoping you can see it via this link.

I'm popping in as I've been out of the loop - just got back from a 2 day PD in Lousiville- Next Generation Instructional Design - using LDC and UbD to create common units focused on the CCS. I am POOPED!!!!! Hoping to pop in for this week but still have to go put my room back together tomorrow (moved classrooms for next year) and take grandkids out Friday.
If you are looking for an ELA public space to collaborate, ask questions, get resources- Google The English Companion Ning started by Jim Burke. My #1 Go-to place for anything ELA - all grades/many topics including Yearbook, reading, writing, technology, NBC, and so much more! Free to join and well worth it!!

A friend of mine is working on a project to promote reading to students and needing pics of adults reading- particularly DIVERSITY- she has few adults and those she does have are Caucasian... Would you consider getting a pic of yourself reading and post it here for her to use? Mark it +Amy Cody Clancy  She will not use names attached to any photos. Mags, newspaper, a book, whatever... but as I tell my students- "keep it clean" LOL Consider this a helpful #donow   Thank you!

Speaking of systems- how about a classroom 'system' where kids don't (or can't) pay attention- I plan to use this in my classroom this year. Click on "GO" at bottom in "Experience it" box and then click on grade 8- Attention Issues- Continue- then Get Started- you can skip through the vids and such and go to the part that is an exercise kids have to do with extraneous noise and such going on at the same time.- "What a Zoo"
I really recommend this site for any parent or teacher who has kids with learning disabilities- I experienced it through the #DLMOOC
