I had a great experience at this Panera Bread. My friend and I were on a trip and had to stop for lunch in Chesapeake with our children. We had 5 small children between us. We chose Panera Bread and the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating! I can't say that I have ever had a bad experience at a Panera Bread, but I have never had the employees go above and beyond like they did at this location. Staff even brought out some extra baguettes for our tired and hungry little ones.

Had to change my review because twice now I have ordered a sandwhich and they ran out of the bread that is suppose to be used for the sandwhich. I wouldn't be so angry but why didn't they tell me when I ordered it instead of wait till I go to pick it up then I could have ordered something else. Then the employee acts like I am the problem because they can't keep enough bread cooked.

I go here about every weekend. The food is very yummy and has a wide variety. Nice smoothies, delicious salads soups and sandwiches. I can't say enough about the bread, however, it comes out a little hard sometimes. That's OK since I dip it in my soup and it softens it up. The prices are very good actually! A soup and a salad can cost around $7.00 and that is nice considering you get a wholesome meal. Overall, I am pleased with the atmosphere and overall management. However, the cashiers could be a little more thoughtful and witty. However, they are very helpful, fast, and nice. I am pleased to spend my money here, but there are a few things that I would change. Including, some of the workers seem to stand around a lot, the bathroom is a little dirty (not much), and I have gotten something different than wha I have asked for (thats OK since everything on their menu is good.)

No effective interaction with the customer. Felt like a cow getting pushed through the slaughter line, Not a customer. Stopped by to pick up some chicken noodle soup for my sick daughter and did not have a pleasant experience. Cashier needs to realize that not every customer knows about the menu or can hear mumbled speaking and could not comprehend that I had never been there before and needed clarity...handed a pager and left to fend for myself. Figured out to pick-up food at end of counter but absolutely NO interaction from the employee tossing trays up on the counter EVEN when I tried to initiate conversation to figure which order was mine. Stood by and watched over a dozen customers go through the same frustration since we are all left to figure it out. One customer asked (after complete confusion) if the 3 trays at the end of the long line of trays was his and the reply was a quick (yeah) without any eye contact or real interaction. The place was not that buzy and the shift manager was around each area of confusion but not offering clarity for the customers. I will NOT be stopping by for anything here again, my money will be put to good use elsewhere. Serious need of human relations skills needed in this establishment!

I love Panera bread...... That's why I was surprised at how little the manager knows about customer service and human interaction... I go to Panera Bread for the atmosphere, the free wifi, and the friendly workers.... The manager is not friendly.... He approached a customer about talking to much to his workers... I would think that would be a good thing cuz that brings back the customers.... I would also think that he would talk to his employees and not his customers.... employees work for him... He works for the customers.... He needs to understand that... There were other occasions where he pulled an employee away in anticipation of him talking to a customer..... and during a storm some customers were waiting inside the door waiting for the rain to subside, he mumbled that he would only give them two more minutes..... The customer and her son heard him and braved it out in the storm.... I'm sure, like me, that customer will not go back to that Panera Bread.... and if that's the new policy all over, I won't go to any more of their locations......
