That will take a long time, considering the crowd.

iPad Pro 9.7 Inch Review

I was excited to replace my aging linux laptop with a new Mac Mini, looking forward to the convenience of cloud services and the more reliable OS X operating system. Once the excitement wore off I realized just what a hefty beast OS X could be. Although the machine performs admirably considering it's budget constraints the level of interactivity continued to be a constant source of frustration. I tended to watch the beach ball of death with increasing amounts of ire. What drove me to the limit was watching the safari icon bounce while I needed to look up time critical information. "Somethings gotta give." I looked at the alternatives and came up with two that suited my wants and needs. Buy a faster Mac Mini, or switch to the new iPad pro 9.7 inch.

I apologized to the twelve inch model for though the screen is flat out amazing I lose on portability and of course true tone. I instead decided on the 9.7 inch. I knew what a Mac mini had to offer. The decision came down spending hundreds of dollars to have a few less beach balls of death, or quite a few hundred less for an experience designed from the ground up to be efficient and immersive. It seemed like a clear choice, but was I ready to abandon the desktop entirely? Could a tablet really be my daily driver?

Happily choosing the iPad simply meant that I could use the tablet for what a tablet does best. There was no need to toss out my working Mac Mini. I could perfectly well (albeit slowly) continue to use the Mini for virtual machines, development, and gaming. A new Mini only offered a slight boost in loading times and a few less curse words. I opted for the tablet. I had a fantastic experience with my purchase at the Apple Retail Store, and when I finally arrived home iCloud had my wifi password ready to go for me.

Not to spend too much time tooting its horn, but the device is fantastic. The screen is higher than hd at a sane 4:3 aspect. The true tone lets me experience a correct color temperature no matter if I am outside or under dull yellow flickering bulbs. The four speakers adjust to orientation and if anything can be described as loud. Watching Grey's Anatomy I can hear Dr. Miranda Bailey sass and it sounds like she is speaking directly to me (which could be a bad thing). The battery life is a clear 10 hours, much more under light use. The performance of the web browser outclasses any computer I have ever used.

The multi-tasking features may be a little awkward to some but I accept their limitations. Sliding over to message or do some research, doodling a quick note, or setting the timer. Split screen to work on a paper in one, and edit a photo in another. Picture in picture has the clear advantage of letting a live stream play uninterrupted as I work, a quick swipe to show or hide what is going on. It's not perfect, but it is firmly cooperative, and even fun to use. It is my view that it is no good to have a computer do many things slowly if it can do a few things perfectly. I am not huge at multi-tasking to begin with.

The final verdict is this tablet is absolutely excellent if you know what you need it to do. Trying to use it like OS X or Windows isn't the point and could lead to frustration. For image editing, typing, financial work, research, communication, entertainment, and organization, it is unsurpassed. What few things are left I can deal with my Mini to do. All I need now is a nice port of Pokemon Heart Gold and Heroes Of The Storm. Cheers.

+pedro andrade that's fine but there is not really much of an interface to not like. You tap a button to show a list of your apps then you tap your app. :/

Meteor Strikes Earth's Atmosphere | International Space Station
Earth's atmosphere helps to protects us from meteorites. The Perseids pose no danger to Earth. Most burn up 50 miles above our planet. But an outburst could mean trouble for spacecraft.
