I call it washing machine conversation.  It goes around and and around without any point or benefit.  Gossip fits into this category as well.
People who don’t value their own time want to take up yours with small talk, and if you keep associating with people who talk small, you could end up with a small life.

Wedding Speech Tip #4 - Time your Speech sure you've been to weddings and been bored silly when the speeches have gone on and on.  If it is longer than 10 minutes...it is too long.  Cut and share the important points.  Don't go off on a tangent.
