I don't believe it should be left up to DJI to put in flight restrictions. Is it left up to a car manufacture to regulate the speed of a car on a certain highway or restrict the ability to make a wrong turn down a one way street. No it's left up to the person operating the vehicle to do so in the proper manner.
You can't reguate studipidty. People need to learn to fly with a little common sense.

+David Albin My problem with that approach, David, is that people are not self-regulating and not learning... the whole "drone" thing is so hot at the moment that I believe if something like this isn't done then legislation will be hastily drawn up with much more stringent limits, including perhaps hard ceiling and distance limits. At least this way the no-fly areas mirror pre-existing areas and will hopefully stop knee-jerk politicians getting very heavy handed with all of us, especially the 90% who do fly sensibly and safely.

I often get the car analogy given to me, but it falls down - to drive a car you have to earn a licence that at least shows you know how you SHOULD drive it, and if caught not doing so you can have that licence sanctioned or removed...

My wife and I recently applied for passports here. After reading all the negative comments I was expecting the worst. It was the exact opposite. We arrived a few minutes early and Misty asked us to have a seat and she would be right with us, after a couple of minutes of helping other customers she called us over and was extremely pleasant and helpful. She had to take our pictures twice due to bad camera white balance, which was no big deal. I was quite pleased with my experience.
