I visit Japaneiro's at least once every 3 months. It is one of my go-to restaurants because of their unique menu. I love both Latin food and fresh sushi and they do an amazing job of blending these two cuisines. The service is top notch and they are fast to suggest new entrees even for regulars like myself. I recently had Salmon lettuce wraps which were not even on the menu but were recommended by my server. As usual, they were just as good as some of my other favorite dishes. Their Caribbean Volcano is one of these, which is a perfect blend of spicy tuna and sweet plantains. I like to invite coworkers and friends to enjoy this restaurant whenever we are on this side of town.

Absolutely wonderful experience for our first time! Our server, Hunter was on top of his game. Very pleasant service and great atmosphere. The sushi was a little more spicy than I expected but it was still so good! I love the twist on the crab puff, not what you expect like what you get for delivery, it's less awkward to eat. The only reason I took off a star was for my strawberry margarita. Having floating chunks of strawberry getting stuck in my little tiny straws didn't make it seem worth what it costs and it kind of tasted like cough syrup. Overall, two thumbs up, we will be going back!

I have been to this restaurant twice and both times were fantastic! The food combination may seem a little bit strange to some (Asian and Latin cuisine), but trust me when I say that they compliment each other well. The staff is very friendly and they provide excellent service even when the place is packed to the brim. My only complaint is that due to its location in Town Center, this place can be packed most hours of the day which can mean a long wait, but Happy Hour is typically not too bad and they also have some great specials. I highly recommend the Encebollado which is essentially seasoned steak and onions. It also includes a side of black beans and Yucas Fritas which is just fried Yuca (tuber). Just be sure to ask for a side of white rice if you prefer that with your black beans!

Recently visited and was not impressed. I started out with Crab Cheese Puffs and was disappointed when they came out. They were made with imitation crab meat were soggy and tasted like they had been sitting under a heating lamp. There was no mention of the imitation crab on the menu or by waiter. I've had better crab puffs at a Chinese buffet. For twelve bucks I wasn't expecting lump crab meat in every bite but a few pieces of actual crab in them would have been nice. Then I had the Nirvana plate done the "chefs way" and once again I was not impressed. The sushi and sashimi pieces although fresh were LUKE WARM. There is something not right about eating raw fish that isn't chilled. The chef had obviously picked lower end rolls from the menu to serve rather then showcasing at least one mid to high price roll. I did have the option of choosing for six dollars more, but was assured by our server that the chef would do something nice. It wasn't horrible but not very impressive. Our waiter Zach was knowledgeable about the menu but didn't really know how to handle constructive criticism. When I mentioned my concerns about the meal, his reply was- I am glad that you enjoyed the meal. Maybe my expectations were too high for a trendy sushi fusion in Sugar Land Town Center. I would suggest driving a little further south on Hwy 6 to a place called Keepers. I probably would not return simply based on the fact that my concerns fell on deaf ears. Problem Resolution goes a long way in my book.

This is my fav local sushi place. Any of the rolls are yummy. Absolutely love the gyoza! The noodle bowl is just delicious. I've been numerous times and the staff is always on point. always pleasant and courteous. I was remembered by a waiter on my 2nd visit. I love excellent customer service like that.
