So, I have to say this week was by far one of the hardest weeks of my life... They say time heals all wounds, but for me, it seems that the longer I wait and the more time that has passed, the harder ...

I've met many wonderful people during my time working in West Liberty. Each person has a story to tell; some of them are stories of survival and sadly, many are stories of lost loved ones. Talking...

Today is my birthday; I'm 24 years-old. In many ways, I feel much older than my 24 years. It seems I've experienced a lot of things that most people my age have not. And although I'm not a big fan of ...

As a Vietnam-era Marine I can try to understand, but am not sure how I would feel in your shoes. Stick with it Marine, you are an inspiration to many. S/F Paul

Story
Introduction
I am a Kentucky native, former Marine and 2011 recipient of the Medal of Honor.

I wear two bracelets, EVERYDAY, engraved with the names of the brothers I lost in the Battle of Ganjgal, Afghanistan, September 8, 2009 - Staff Sgt. Aaron Kenefick, "Doc" James Layton, Gunnery Sgt Edwin Johnson, Jr., 1stLt Michael Johnson and Army Sgt Kenneth Westbrook.

Being honored and called a hero for the worst day of my life is something I still struggle to understand, but I try my best to make something positive out of something negative.  Now I spend my days traveling the country, speaking to various groups, honoring those who gave all and trying to inspire everyone to realize their full human potential.
