Having been dealing with Big Data things over the past year, I noticed the lack of a decent Open Source Data Management system that can handle data visualization, information dissemination and general data governance.

#PlatoCDP was originally built for general purpose website / knowledge management system, though of course, as a general purpose system, it lacks competitive advantage besides its easy installation.

On another side, the #OpenData movement have CKAN which provides a decent Open Data management portal, but I still think something is missing, namely on dashboarding and data governance.

Data, Information, and Knowledge are 3 interrelated concepts, and #Plone is a decent system to use for Knowledge Management based on past experiences working with it. So, hey, why not turn it into a full fledged system for managing your Data, Information and Knowledge?

So, announcing the current trunk/master of PlatoCDP, which repurpose the Plone distribution into the market of Enterprise Data/Information/Knowledge Portal.

https://github.com/koslab/PlatoCDP/blob/master/README.rst

Not sure when I'll get around to get the first release (current dayjob is crazy .. need moar engineers!! .. anybody want to be Data Engineers?) but lets see if theres ppl want to fund this :P ..

A glimpse on how human society might become once planet Earth reaches its maximum capacity

"""Universe 25 started out with eight mice, four males and four females. By day 560, the mouse population reached 2,200, and then steadily declined back down to unrecoverable extinction. At the peak population, most mice spent every living second in the company of hundreds of other mice. They gathered in the main squares, waiting to be fed and occasionally attacking each other. Few females carried pregnancies to term, and the ones that did seemed to simply forget about their babies. They'd move half their litter away from danger and forget the rest. Sometimes they'd drop and abandon a baby while they were carrying it."""

I particularly found this part interesting .. looks at own lifestyle .. lol ..

"""The few secluded spaces housed a population Calhoun called, "the beautiful ones." Generally guarded by one male, the females—- and few males — inside the space didn't breed or fight or do anything but eat and groom and sleep. When the population started declining the beautiful ones were spared from violence and death, but had completely lost touch with social behaviors, including having sex or caring for their young."""
