New floors at Shine Advertising! The wood is reclaimed maple flooring from an elementary school gymnasium that was being renovated. Every one of these boards had to be carefully removed by hand and every nail was pulled so they could be reusable again. If you’re wondering why it looks like there’s confetti on the floor, it’s from the old striping for the basketball court and kickball diamond. Photos by Findorff Construction.

The Kubala Washatko Architects is an architecture and  sustainable design firm located in Cedarburg, Wisconsin (just outside of Milwaukee).

We embrace a design philosophy of wholeness, where the built environment supports and enhances both human activity and natural living systems. The idea of sustainability is a natural extension of wholeness-based thinking and is integrated into every studio project.
