In 2005, Arthur Benjamin was deeply disturbed by the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina for animals. Thus, Arthur and his five-pound adopted poodle, Buddy, co-founded American Dog Rescue to place healthy dogs in permanent homes that are the right fit for the animal and its family. American Dog Rescue is a tax-exempt, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization committed to finding a home for every adoptable dog in the United States. ADR is unique in its commitment that 100% of all donations go to the animals.
American Dog Rescue - founded by Arthur E. Benjamin – is an all-volunteer organization for which Arthur underwrites administrative costs. That means 100% of ADR proceeds go to animal welfare and projects to save and protect animals. Thus, contributors are assured their $5 and $10 donations, or $5,000 or $50,000 challenge grants will have maximum impact on the issues faced by ADR’s animal constituency.
In addition, American Dog Rescue also supports initiatives to insure and improve the lives of dogs and other animals, develop and grow animal welfare organizations and help solve the problem of pet overpopulation.
