Problem solved. Seems Google decided to invade my account and add a circle called "Featured on Google+" where they stuff spammy accounts I'm not interested in so they can get nonsense into my feed. I assume this is old news to many of you as I don't log in often and have no idea when this was done. Needless to say, I deleted the circle and now my feed is back to what it should be/was. I don't mind an ad, but label it as such! Such a creepy thing to do.

Why is Google+ showing TONS of posts in my stream from people/brands that are NOT in any of my circles? Shouldn't they be labelled as ads? #fail

Aaand this is why I rarely use Google+. Complete and utter fail. Show me shit I subscribe to, not random crap like sports updates from ESPN (I'm not a sports fan; never added ESPN to a circle). I can't even find the people in my circles on my feed. And no, I shouldn't have to use a filter. The platform should allow me to see what I want. If you want to show me an ad, LABEL it as an ad, don't sneak stuff into my stream. #googleplus #fail #notcool

Giraffes Necking by Marina Cano

Giraffes necking at Cabarceno. The largest wildlife park in Europe.

The guy behind the counter who I think is the owner (old and crochety) has to be one of the worst businessmen I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. I saw a tub of spicy nuts that I thought was interesting because it had my name on it. Before picking it up to purchase (and I absolutely was going to buy it) I took my phone out to snap a picture of it and this guy lifts his head up from whatever he was reading to tell me that I can't snap any photos in his store. He didn't ask if I needed help. He didn't ask if I had any questions. No. He wanted to make sure that I didn't take a photograph in his store. "I have signs up," he barked. Well, Mr. Idiot Shop Owner, when someone posts a picture of something they found interesting AND tags the location AND shares it with his 1500 Twitter followers and 500 Facebook friends, that my simple-minded friend, is called free advertising. One would think for a store in the middle of freaking NOWHERE-TOWN, NJ, they'd be much nicer and especially amenable to doing whatever it takes to please a customer. But, no. This man wants to stick to a pointless policy and insult potential customers at the same time. Dude, you sell cheese and other stuff you re-sell. You sell nothing proprietary and put nothing at risk by a camera-wielding patron.

Order the chicken parm or the house turkey on a roll. Brussels sprouts are amazing when in season.
