I am interested in Do-It-Yourself Home Automation, computers, electronics, programming and cycling (on a bicycle). I've written a book on Linux and Home Automation (see links below) and I lead bike rides on Saturday mornings out of Village Park, Cranbury, NJ.

YES! I have my SmartThings hub & Devices talking directly to my server. My server is running a Node.js-to-MQTT bridge and Mosquitto (MQTT). I'll need to update the documents as I did it a little differently than the original authors. The TCF presentation is looking better now. :-)

In preparation for my HA presentation next month at the Trenton Computer Festival I hope to setup a cell modem access, SmartThings, Adafruit.io/MQTT and some visual display on the Raspberry Pig for a hand on Demo.

I now have SmartThings registered and the first 4 devices are working. I'm not doing anything with it yet. I also picked up an Arduino and the SmartThings shield. I now have a lot of learning to do. I still intend to add it to the rest of my system (Perl/Misterhouse, C#/HomeSeer, JS/Node.js/Node-Red, custom scripts of Bash, Perl and Python).

Answer: be a bit more patient and wait for their support to get in. I just got an email from support and they're helping me not. Wish I could learn patients.

Sorry, browser closed the window.  I'm getting a message when  registering my hub that the welcome code is already in use. I purchased this hub used so that kind of makes sense. How can I get my hub re-registered?

Just bought a used SmartThings kit and I'm all excited to use it. Only I can't because the Welcome code is already been used (okay, that's kind of expected). I've sent an email to support but no response so far. And I can't find the browser chat that's supposed to be on their web site. Not Happy! I might have to return this thing yet. :(

Yea! I've joined the Internet of Things with my Uno32, DHT22 and WIZnet 550io publishing temperature and humidity to my MQTT server. Now to get my many HA applications to subscribe and do something with the data.
