Walking in, It was a very pleasent surprise. Quaint small location, very welcoming. My mom and sister took me here for my birthday, since I do eat vegan mostly. All the dishes we ordered were DELICIOUS! we kept stealing food from each other's plates. Fries were awesome, and so was the potato salad. I got the "meatball" sub and it really tasted just like the real thing. This is a must try place, even if your NOT vegan. Please try it! Ha.. :)

Food was great and service was just as good. Was a little too warm upstairs temp-wise for my taste but the server made sure that we had plenty of water to cool us down. Favorite dishes: Brussel Sprouts! Little bit spicy but lots of flavor

Poor service, terrible overpriced food. We waited 20 mins for the waitress to greet us. The restaurant was pretty empty. We went around 9pm. The host took us inside and sit us at a high top table and said that was all they had available. But I looked around and there were plenty of regular tables nearby our table. No one came in after us to sit in those tables either. It's a bit awkward sitting at their high top tables. They're small and there's no where to put your belongings. Another couple came in after us and the waitress ended up going to their table first. I ordered the potato chowder soup. It tasted like it was out of a can - super salty. No flavor, unappetizing. It looked like thickened muddy water. I also ordered the tomato & mozzarella pizza. It was swimming in olive oil, and I couldn't eat it. My husband had the BTLA with mashed potatoes. He found a hair in the mashed potatoes. The potatoes were so dry and just broke apart, they weren't creamy at all. It looked like they pulled it out of the fridge and microwaved it. It was my birthday dinner, so it was really disappointing to have such an unpleasant experience and a $60 tab to go along with it. Another family nearby us called for the manager and was complaining about their service as well. I had been to this place before, about a year ago. It was really good then. I definitely won't go back.

I was really excited to go to Sage because it gets amazing reviews and my husband and I are both vegan. In fact, this was one of my must-visit stops on our first trip to L.A. We ended up going to Sage for brunch, and I was pretty underwhelmed. My husband and I ordered two different breakfast dishes that ended up being very similar, and one of them I thought was pretty bland, even with the accompanying sauces. The space itself is also a little worn looking -- I think this is the vibe they're going for (or, at least, embracing), but for me it wasn't that great. The "vibe" felt dirty, rather than counterculture. I think I would go back one more time to try lunch -- maybe their sweet breakfast dishes aren't as good as their savory lunch options. I really want to love this place. We ended up having brunch at another vegan location the day before, and it was so much better to me in comparison. Obviously I'm no expert, but I'll give it one more chance to woo me. Otherwise, you'll see me elsewhere.

The croissant is usually flaking and fresh. The linguine in the eggplant arabiata was just past al dente. The coconut in the brownie made for a weird experience, especially because black-bean-based brownies taste like non-vegetarian brownies.

I come for lunch for lunch and usually don't have to wait to be seated. All their food is great! The have GF options among the vegan and vegetarian options, so I had a great tuna sandwich the other time and the sweet and sour cauliflower. All amazing, great flavors and seasonings. Most definitley filling too. I've been here 3 times and unfortunately I'm always too full to try their dessert and icecream. Next time I'm sure I'll save some room though.

Came here because the reviews were great so I decided to give it a shot. I got the "spicy coconut curry", it was alright. It wasn't bad at all but also, it was lacking. My boyfriend got a vegan meatball sandwich with fries, again, lacking. In addition, we got the wings, those were pretty good, just ended more wing sauce (but that's alright). For some odd reason, we felt uncomfortable in there, out of place for some reason. Staff needs some training on being a server. Food portions aren't too generous either. Good food (but lacking), and ehhh service but not worth the price, it was actually kinda costly, almost everything is $15 (including appetizers). I won't be going back, I'll try a different place. Hope this was some helpful insight to you all.

They've got a nice little place. Good environment and friendly staff. Unfortunately, as it is with a lot of places, they seem to think vegetarian should be bland and tasteless. Great idea, poor execution.
