Cat: Bites with renewed vigor.
- Writer and cell phone junkie, present
I grew up mostly in Washington, but I live in Utah now. I miss rain. I miss green. I do not miss snow or hot summers and wish I did. Utah has some beautiful canyons though, and lizards that bite. I like attitude in my reptiles.
I have a BS in Zoology, which is of limited usefulness. It means I have an expensive piece of paper that proves I can be taught, and it enables me to give advice about how to find runaway turtles. Since I do tech support for PDAs, the latter falls firmly under the 'going above and beyond' category. So if you have questions about your sugar gliders' unusual dietary habits or your hedgehog's personality disorder, call your cell phone provider.
I have a teen and a tween. They're great, I know they are. They're more polite, considerate, and respectful than 98% of their friends in addition to getting decent grades and having manners. They also drive me crazy. Not their fault, it's their job to drive me up a wall. I just wish they didn't give this one thing a full 110%. Seriously, I'm proud of my little over-achievers, now pass the Valium.
In my spare time I find ways to corrupt the programming on the smartphone of the month to the point it's unusable and then fix it again. Writing is easier and more interesting, although there are some Mac and Blackberry viruses that can be amusing. (FYI.) Aside from that, I spend a lot of time giving my children tolerant smiles and even more time getting them from my husband. He does it better. He also finds unique reasons to send me to my room for a time out. Funny thing about time outs, I grew into them as my kids grew out of them. And they're not punishment, they're rewards. Like naps.
