Cherry Pie Bars from Joy The Baker - I know she intends for them to be dessert, but I say breakfast is the perfect time for these little yummies. I mean picture it, sitting on my deck on a gorgeous summer morning sipping a homemade latte and gnoshing on these fruit bars. WOW!

Love this recipe for Shrimp + Grits Style Risotto, except I'd substitute quinoa for the arborio rice and I'd use homemade chicken stock instead of the fish stock. (I always think fish stock has an aftertaste.)

In honor of #SBW14  I'm attending virtual events and mentoring other SBOs. What are you doing to celebrate this week?

I mostly agree with what +Brian Gardner said in his latest blog post about "bleeding all over your blog"...  Most people, myself included, have a tendency to portray our lives in the best possible light, especially in social media circles.

For myself, that's intentional because the public at large doesn't need to know every struggle of mine. I have a rule about sharing struggles, which is that I don't share them until I have a corresponding victory to share. Only those closest to me get to hear about the struggle before the victory. This is a personal choice I've made for my own life, my marriage, and my business ventures.

But let's be honest, authenticity is not the same as intimacy when it comes to what you write. I'm very authentic - in person and online - never failing to share the humorous or embarrassing moments that make up my daily life. THAT is what makes me... ME. And I wish more people would share THOSE aspects of their personality and daily life.

Thanks for sharing, Brian!

I've seen a huge contrast among all the managers I've either had or observed closely. I think #6 on this list is especially true in typical corporations - promotions are based partially on those who "play along" instead of expertise or leadership skills. And I'm fairly certain most would agree with this assessment.
