A great visualisation of an alternative perspective of our solar system in the galaxy
How our Solar System really moves

Being a part of the Solar System, we always view it from a fixed perspective. As in, we don't really imagine the Sun (the center of our solar system) to be moving too.

But let's say we "zoom out" a little bit then we'll see an extraordinary trajectory of the Sun and its planets. This GIF shows a high-speed simulation of the motion.

Can't wait for this!
I know it's been shown a lot in the past day. You have seen it from the likes of +Ahmed Zeeshan and +Mikael sh and I have watched it on +Doug Bailey 's monitor already twice (let alone my own)

But I have to show it again!

I know a lot of people actually like The Hobbit better than The Lord of the Rings. There is some merit to this, in the sense that it's a tighter story, a trimmed arc. It was his first publication and was wildly popular -- even if it only began as a humble story told to his children. (Can you imagine having such a father? Extraordinary.)

While I understand - and accept that view as completely legitimate, I still prefer Lord of the Rings. I like my stories with those hints of ancient things. In any event, this will be a most welcomed event in our house next year. I'll probably weep with happy emotion the entire time I'm watching this movie. 8)
