6 Important Nutrition Tips to Remember:
1. Always Eat Breakfast - Our bodies our in a fasting stare while we are sleeping so it's important to start fueling the body within 30 minutes of rising each morning so you do not start storing fat.
2. Eat protein with every meal - Most people do not eat enough protein. Protein helps you feel fuller longer and also helps you recover from workouts
3. Drink a glass of water before every meal - A lot of times we think we are hungry when we are actually dehydrated. We may be less likely to overeat when we are hydrated, plus drinking plenty of water helps flush out toxins.
4. Eat lots of vegetables - They are high in fiber and will help to fill you up more than you think. Plus, you can eat as many as you want without having to worry about counting calories. Try to eat as many different colors as you can each day.
5. Shop the perimeter of the grocery store - EAT REAL FOOD!!! That is the best thing you can do for your body. On the outskirts of the grocery store are the meat, produce, and the dairy section. This is where you should purchase the majority of your groceries which will help you optimize the nutrient density of your food and eliminate the processed food full of fillers and man made products.
6. Eat every 3-5 hours - How many hours will vary from person to person and will depend on your activity for the day, but the bottom line is you never want to go to long without eating during the day. Eating regularly helps to keep your metabolism running faster, keeps your blood sugar in check, and you will be less likely to overeat at a meal.
