BUBBA 3 Years Old to be destroyed Sun July 5 Manhattan NY
A volunteer writes: A nice way to end my day…..an easy walk to the park with a dog who is housetrained (as advised by his former owner), and has great leash manners. Of course, the fact that he’s gorgeous and easy was helpful too! He gives stand up hugs and kisses, ignored people walking by, and was focused when we stopped to take some pictures. Off leash in the backyard he played with a plush toy, shaking it all around until lying down froggy style to dismember it. RIP plush toy smile emoticon.Posing for more pictures he does that head tilt thing I love, leans in for petting and gives me more kisses. Laying down froggy style again, I pet him all over and give his cute little butt a gentle pinch to which his response is a tail wag. Surrendered by his family due to allergies, we’re told he knows ‘sit’, and ‘give paw’, is housetrained, likes to jump and play bite, loves to play tug, loves to go for a run or a jog, is playful and affectionate and should be crated when left home alone. It’s unclear whether he’s ever been crate trained. Calm and gentle during our time together, Bubba is looking for an active family who will provide all the exercise and mental stimulation he needs, along with all the cuddles and kisses possible. He’s looking for an experienced person to welcome him home.

PUPPY GHENGA 11 MONTHS OLD to be destroyed Mon July 6 Brooklyn NY
** PUPPY ALERT ** Joy is what Ghenga has in her heart, she smiles and likes what the world has to give. Ghenga is a puppy, just eleven months old, a pretty Pitty mix that weighs only forty six pounds. Ghenga has been listed to be destroyed tomorrow by the ACC of NYC, she is listed due to a cold. Ghenga arrived as a stray, she was very friendly and loving at intake. She was rated during her SAFER as best in a household with no small children, due to a four in food testing. She had an excellent SAFER and could use some old fashioned puppy training like all puppies her age. Please share this puppy everywhere, make some noise and get this girl noticed. She needs to find a foster or adopter by noon tomorrow. Do not let this young, fun, and loving girl be destroyed for being homeless. Advocate and pledge for Ghenga !!

PUPPY NEYO 1 Year Old to be destroyed Mon July 6 Brooklyn NY
When you think about it, dogs grow even faster than babies during their first year and just as much is going on in their mental growth during that time. Fortunately for Neyo, he must have experienced good care from a competent human during his first year. Now, at only 9-months old and 67-pounds, Neyo’s family has decided that their personal problems override Neyo’s welfare. Neyo couldn’t be more friendly and affectionate, but shelter life for a boy who’s been accustomed to home life is scary and difficult. Neyo is a fair pit bull mix – he’d better wear sunscreen to keep from getting burned. There’s not too much else to say. The facts are that Neyo is a wonderful dog who needs a good home before they kill him tomorrow. If this truth upsets you, please join the urgent crusade to find a home for charming Neyo.

FRANKIE 4 Years Old~~Rescue Only~~to be destroyed Sun July 5 Manhattan NY
MUST BE PULLED BY A NEW HOPE PARTNER A volunteer writes: Frankie, my golden girl. Petite, gorgeously groomed, surrendered by her owner as her person is ill and can no longer take care of her. Good with all the people and kids in the family and understandably confused and upset about why she’s in a strange place without them. We chat for a minute before I leash her, and when I do she stands up easily and hops down. Once outside she pees forever, showing off her housetraining skills. Her leash manners are good, and at a corner she sat while we waited for the light to change. Off leash in the yard she came when called, and then sat close to my legs rolling in for hugs. Leaning into me she loved having her ears stroked (they feel like velvet), and gave me a sweet smile. If I stopped petting her she would give me a quick nose poke to continue on. So sweet! Described as playful and energetic by her former family, sweet Frankie is hoping to find a new family to love. When I passed her kennel later in the day she was sitting up in front of her door taking in the activity around her. A major step for this little girl. She has many major steps in front of her, and I’m hoping that they will be with the love and support of her new person or family. Ask to meet Miss Frankie today.

NALA 6 Years Old to be destroyed Mon July 6 Brooklyn NY
Stunning Nala just can’t seem to catch a break! First her original owner left her with a friend and never came back for her. Then, 2 months later, that friend could no longer keep her and brought her to Brooklyn ACC. But she thought she’d made it when she was adopted in May but her head must have been spinning when those folks brought her back two weeks later for “personal problems”. Reading her behavioral and medical evals, it really makes no sense why someone just wouldn’t want this outstanding girl as their bff for years to come. She’s lived with and was very gentle with kids, lived in harmony 2 Chihuahuas and a pit bull, and was a good all-around family dog! ACC however, thinks that they’ve given Nala all the chances she deserves and they’ve put this girl on tomorrow’s euthanasia list. So unless there’s someone out there who is ready to have a wonderful girl who’s never done anything wrong, who loves everybody she meets to their household, Nala will end her life wondering what she did that was so bad. She deserves so much better than that!

FAMILY FEUD 5 Years Old to be destroyed Mon July 6 Brooklyn NY
AVERAGE RATED SWEET BOY! Family Feud says “let’s play!” He is a very sweet boy who had the misfortune of coming in as a stray and then quickly getting sick. Upon intake he allowed the counselor to scan him and pet his chest. When in the office, Family Feud solicted attention by placing his paw on the counselor’s leg. He nuzzled the counselor’s hand when petted. He allowed collaring and did not show any aggressive behaviors. Doesn’t he sound like a dream? Well this dreamboat is about to realize his worst nightmare as, through no fault of his own he has made the dreaded list. It is not his fault he lost his home, it is not his fault that his owners did not come looking for him and it is not his fault that he got sick in the dirty, germ-infested shelter. Now his life is at stake and he only has a few hours to find that one person who will give him a chance. Please advocate for Family Feud tonight…..for him the game is about to be over. Only we can save his life.

SYLLABLE 5 Years Old to be destroyed Mon July 6 Brooklyn NY
A volunteer writes: Syllable — a unique name for a most special lady! She and a little Yorkie were found tied up to a veterinary hospital in Far Rockaway — both looking a bit worse for wear. Her coat might be shabby, but Syllable is completely radiant! She is very friendly and eager to connect with people. She pulls with no regard for the well being of her own neck at first, but after she’s relieved herself (she seems very housebroken) and gotten some pent up energy out, she walks beautifully on leash. She usually responds to “sit,” but sometimes opts to stand up and pirouette for treats instead. She has a wonderful smile and when she hears an interesting noise makes the most precious quizzical face. When I have her off leash in the yard she is initially very playful and excited, but after a few minutes lays down (sometimes between my legs) and does some sunning. Off leash or on, Syllable is consistently very, very affectionate. Petting sends her into a frenzy of scratching along with her back leg or propping her paws on me and showering me with kisses, but ultimately leads to Syllable going belly up! She loves belly rubs, and when I stop she bats her front paw at me to ask why. Being a middle-aged pitbull makes Syllable an underdog of sorts, but I suspect whoever takes a chance on her will find themselves with a silly, charming, incredibly sweet, and devoutly loving best friend! Syllable would be so happy to meet you at Brooklyn ACC!
