Keyword Research for Web Writers and Content Producers

These two free books are no dry, academic exercise that leaves you with more questions than answers. Instead, they walk you through choosing profitable content topics by exploring how keyword research provides valuable insights into the way your prospective audience thinks and discusses the topics that matter to them.

Ready to get started? First, a word of warning… these free guides are pretty hefty, so make sure you have time for a bit of serious (but fun) reading.

Does your analytics setup suffer from multiple personalities syndrome? Read my new blog post about connecting the dots in cross-device customer paths.
Every morning, I drink a cup of café latte at home, while having a look at today’s news on my brand new tablet. After a ten minute walk, I sit in the quiet metro train in Helsinki. Like most of the other people around me, I start to browse the web with my mobile phone as soon as I sit down. Soon after this, I’m at the Klikki office in Helsinki behind my screen working on a client case. During the day, I’m exposed to more and more online advertisi...

Apple copywriters know exactly how to sell with words. They know the copywriting tricks, techniques, and formulas to sell products.

How does Apple’s sales copy captivate your attention? How does Apple fascinate, engage, and persuade you to buy a new iPhone or a new iPad? Even when your old one still works?

Henneke shows you:

Yesterday afternoon comScore released its US smartphone and mobile app rankings for March. Interestingly the company appears to have discontinued its ranking for mobile websites and is now only reporting on the top apps. In terms of smartphone marketshare, the story remains largely unchanged over the past six months, except that Samsung continues to incrementally […]

Eikö vääntö riitä yrityksesi analytiikkasoftassa? GA Premium riittää joka käyttöön!
 ·  Translate
With these changes in the web analytics arena come demands from marketers and business leaders for a tool that not only caters to the needs for customisation, but also the need for up-to-date and accurate data. To answer this call Google launched Google Analytics Premium in 2011. At first it was made available in North America and The UK but has since then, its been gradually rolled out to more markets across the world.

Google Provided Rich Answers to 19% of the Queries We Asked it

I just published the results of our study in which we askew Google and Bing 855,000 questions. The questions were designed to have some chance of providing a rich answer result.  Google provided a rich result more than 19% of the time.

Wondering what a rich answer is? These are cases where Google directly answers the result. For example, if you ask Google how many quarts there are in a gallon, it will give you the answer.

Keep in mind that 2 years ago that number was zero, and while we did not test it last year, I'd be surprised if it was any more than a few percent back then.

This shows the rapid progress that Google has made over the past year.

The study also shows:

1. How Google user attribution in their rich answer results.
2. What types of domains Google is using to source such answers.
3. How Google's step by step answer results are being used by Google.

I also talk about what this means for publishers as well.  Here is the full link:

Nyt mennään takapakkia: Google poistaa kirjoittajan kuvan hakutuloksista...
 ·  Translate

We've been doing lots of work to clean up the visual design of our search results, in particular creating a better mobile experience and a more consistent design across devices. As a part of this, we're simplifying the way authorship is shown in mobile and desktop search results, removing the profile photo and circle count. (Our experiments indicate that click-through behavior on this new less-cluttered design is similar to the previous one.)

For more information on using authorship on pages of your website, check out https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1408986

If you haven't tried Google Public DNS, it's really fast and has great uptime. You just set your DNS servers to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. Give it a try!
