STAY THE HELL AWAY!!!! If i could give this place a negative 5 stars i would. Here's why. -tardy service -dirty water, literally 2 pitch fulls. I didnt drink any. Plastic cups, super trashy. -long wait for food -cold food when received - terrible bar tender -terrible waiting on tables I'll never ever go back not even for a free drink or brunch and i hope the place closes down soon.

Absolutely awful. Chased after us saying we didn't pay the bill when we had left a huge tip. Comedians were not funny and we are big comedy fans. Wouldn't suggest this place to anyone. Avoid. Much better places in the area.

The staff is great, and there are some great deals on Jameson shots/drinks. Most importantly, The Village Lantern usually isn't swarming with NYU students unlike many other area bars.

I DO like the look of the place. Very cool! BUT... The service is terrible. I was waiting at a table for over a half hour before giving up on getting food. I was a band member and found the sound guy VERY unprofessional. After rushing us up on stage (we were ready to go on over 40minutes before he even showed up btw!!) he said very snotty "yeah I don't do sound checks I adjust on the fly". OOKKKK!? Fine. But so... If you adjust on the fly, BE AROUND at least for the first few minutes of the first song! Nope not him. Our 2 vocal mics where not working, so we're up there playing with no vocals!! Where's the sound guy!?!? No where to be found. That's all we had was 2vocal mics and he couldn't get it right. Then he's yelling at us that he's going to cut our set short if we don't start playing!! We were playing, just that our mics were not turned up on the mixer. Total jerk and does NOT know his craft and takes it out on the bands. I could go on but do feel like wasting anymore time on the place
