If there’s such a thing as a perfect wedding, Corrine and Michael had such! Lake Como in Italy is perhaps one of the most sensational places on this earth! I don’t know, no, I don’t believe there’s another location which can come close to its natural beauty.

Corrine and Michael chose to splurge on their wedding by inviting a very small number of people to witness their big day. Their day started out at the splendid Balbianello Suite on the top floor of the Grand Hotel Tremezzo. I’m not sure if there are words to describe this hotel other than heavenly, sweet, splendor, I feel like I’m on cloud nine all comes to mind!

While they got ready at the hotel, Villa Balbianello, one of the most beautiful and famous venues in all Lake Como was transformed for their ceremony and later on reception. The hotel and villa, aren’t located within driving distance, rather a one hour ride via private seaplane or boat are necessary form of transportation. In normal circumstances, your guests may complain about getting in a boat in their fine attire, but in Lake Como, one welcomes this opportunity! Besides, what groom wouldn’t welcome a chance to make his grand James Bond entrance?

Gianluca and his wife Mary of Gianluca and Mary Adovasio are my go-to photographers in Italy and the masterminds behind these amazing pictures. As always, the source of a local wedding planner in Italy such as Italian Wedding Planners is always an ingredient for success! Without further ramblings, enjoy this wedding!

Ok, I have to be honest with you all, this post today is my absolute favorite in this series. The colors, the colors, the colors……..deep breath! I’m calm again. WOW, what I have for you below is just lovely. Today we’re covering the reception décor and guys, this is beautiful.

The reception is where you get to shine! This is where you get to show your guests what your wedding is all about. Your personality, your passion in life, who you are as a couple. With this water color theme, it’s no different. Below you will find inspiration from the strong, bold colors, to the soft, feminine and sweet. That sweet canvas table escort card is what it’s all about. I LOVE that. Okay, enough of my ramblings, enjoy the post.

Cheers,

I can’t believe we’re already on the third day of this design series! I think from the email I received from Janice, (the reason we’re doing this series) our mission is a success as she’s thrilled with what she’s seen so far. We aim to please!
Today we’re taking a look into the overall look and feel of the wedding which contains the ceremony setup, and those gorgeous bridesmaids of yours. Since Janice is going in full force with the theme, I’m loving the idea of dressing the bridesmaids in a beautiful water color look. Janice, I’ve you’re not able to get a water color dress per say, you’ll noticed below there’s plenty of ways to achieve the look.
Speaking of dresses? How about dressing your flower girls in different shades of your colors? Yeah…..I like that idea.
For those of you who are perhaps just going in partially, I LOVE the look of the ceremony backdrop that is a strong shade of colors. I wouldn’t dress the girls in the same shades. I would keep the girls dresses on a neutral tone. You don’t want the look to be overbearing.
What do you guys think?
Cheers,
Violaine

It feels like forever since we’ve done a Design Series. And like most of our design series, it always starts with a suggestion or a question from a reader. One of our loyal readers is getting married and entertaining the possibility of a water colored theme wedding. There, just like that, a Water Colored Design Series is born!
A water colored theme can be remarkably beautiful, a work of art, a blank canvas! Even if you’re not artistically inclined, with the proper planning you will find the soft pastel hues lend themselves perfectly to your décor and your wedding day will look like a true work of art.
In this series, we will look into how and where you can incorporate water colors into everything from custom design invitations, your wedding bouquet, ways to dress your bridesmaids, hand painted cake and off course centerpieces to the small details that makes a wedding magical.
While watercolors are by nature soft and feminine, you can also design it in a way to be bold, strong and masculine while still keeping in the appeal of femininity. With picturesque shades of blue, purples, reds, you will draw attention as though you’re in the setting of an Art Gallery while shades of pink, yellow and purple will afford you the feeling of a soft garden feel and look. The mixed colors of a water colored themed wedding is definitely something to celebrate. Like we always say with every design series; sit back, grab your favorite bubbly and enjoy
Since your Save the Date and Invitations are the first glimpse offered to your guests, we’re starting the series with the same fashion. Below you will some stunning invitation to get your creative juices going. We have everything from the very elegant and exquisite letter press for those of you who seek such sensational invitations. We have the very fun, to the silly and simple or the dark tone masculine for those of you who’s groom will have had enough of the feminine tones. Off course, we’re happy to help you in your design process should you wish. Just contact us and we’ll get the ball rolling.
Cheers,

I’m so tickled pink to be able to share Pegah & Michael’s intimate wedding (just about 50 guests) which took place on the terrace of Villa Maltese in Santorini Greece right next to the pool. You know, regardless how often I travel, each location is different, never knowing what to expect. Some more special than others and some just take your breath away. Santorini is such a place. Magical, mythical, breathtaking, mesmerizing are just a few words that comes to mind to describe it. Chris, the photographer who captured this enchanted wedding described the Island best….. “The spectacular views of the caldera, magical light, and diverse landscape all conspire to make this cresent-shaped island a dream wedding destination!”

Pegah, a stunning Persian and Michael, the handsome British decided on a traditional Persian ceremony. You all know how much I LOVE ethnic ceremonies. The “Sofreh Aghd” is the center spread somewhat of a focal point of the ceremony.

Each Sofreh Aghd is like none other, tailored to each bride and groom but with some general guidelines. There are always twenty-four symbolic items placed featured. As you’ll see in the pictures, the couple always sits at a special seat at the head of the alter or table. The items of the Sofreh Aghd are always profoundly meaningful for the bride and groom. The central message at the core of each item are always well wishes for the couple’s happiness, luck, prosperity, joy, health and closeness to God. The items are traditionally made by the family and very close friends of the couple; and always made with creativity, care and love.

Did I mention Pegah’s beautiful wedding dress was made by her mother? How about that?! What a beautiful gift to receive from your mom. Well, the stunning pictures are below. Relish in them as I have!

What a beautiful way to start this week off! Today I am sharing the wedding of Laura & Miguel who got married in the gorgeous Terrassa Barcelona…..yes, I said Terrassa Barcelona…..as in beautiful Terrassa. The backdrop of this ancient Roman municipality is made up of the mountains from Muntanya de Monserrat Nature Reserve, and Sant Llorenç del Munt i L´Obac Nature Reserves.
Laura & Miguel chose Mas Bonvilar as their wedding weekend home. The, discreet Manor was the perfect location surrounded by woodland and gardens.
Roberto of Roberto & María Photography was the local photographer whom did an amazing job capturing the wedding. If their photography style looks familiar to you, it’s because you saw his other wedding here.

Enjoy!

Cheers,
Violaine
