I've tried 4 yoga studios in Austin over the last 7 years, and Yoga Con Amor is hands down my favorite! Beautiful space, simple pricing, amazing instructors (Eliz is a true gem) and a style of yoga that really works for me. In college, I started taking ashtanga yoga, but it was too hot. The vinyasa classes at Yoga Con Amor are kept at 80 degrees, which is perfect. I love the emphasis of breath linked to movement and the ocean-sounding breath (slight constriction of the throat) - this really helps me always stay conscious of my breath, which helps me reach that meditative state more easily and consistently. I love the rhythm of this type of yoga, which involves a lot of movement and transitions. It's energizing! I go to the noon vin yasa classes and the class sizes are intimate, which I much prefer to what I've experienced at most other studios. Eliz and her mom opened the studio in 2013, and it's such a lovely, clean, welcoming environment. Eliz is such a wonderful soul and instructor. She really has you feel like you can go at whatever pace works for you, judgment-free, and encourages you to listen to your own body. She knows exactly what she is doing and explains things really clearly and accurately. I know that if I were a yoga instructor, I'd sometimes forget what came next, flub my words, or even switch up left and right. But not Eliz! She always says something at every class that totally connects me to the present, which is not easy for me! At the end, she reminds us that we're all one and that we all have something divine within us - it always makes me feel grateful for my life. I've never felt like both my body and soul were nurtured so profoundly by yoga before I came to this studio. I've always had trouble going to yoga consistently. I would go for 2-3 months, and then stop for a long time. I've been coming to Yoga Con Amor for 9 months now and I always look forward to it! If you're still trying to find your yoga home, try this place out!

I love this place! Where to start? The prices are great. $10/class seems very reasonable to me compared to other Austin places. Plus they are currently offering multi-class package discounts so my recent classes have actually been closer to $7-8. I plan to purchase the $100/unlimited class package after I get back from a trip. Next, the classes. They offer a nice selection from Vinaysa to Hatha to Yoga con Barre (yoga/barre class fusion). They also offer beginner classes and beginner workshops which is nice as i'm trying to get friends to join me there. They even have a family friendly class for parents to involve their kids. The largest class I have attended had 8-9 other people in it (on a Sunday), but most of mine are 2-4 people which I love! Adds to the personal attention from instructors. Finally, the instructors are also fabulous! I've had four different ones thus far (Eliz, Dottie, Emily and Kim) and all have been fabulous. Each one brings their own flair to the class. All provide personal interaction and attention to helping you correct form. One day there was bad weather/traffic and I was the only one who showed up for a class. Eliz wasn't fazed at all and took me through an awesome class and helped me work into new positions! That's awesome service in my book! All in all I've been extremely happy with Yoga Con Amore and look forward to continuing to practice there!

I used to go to the nearby Yoga Yoga North, but switched to this place. Yoga Con Amor doesn't serve hot tea, but it's a much better value with great instructors. Class sizes, on average, are smaller too. My advice: try both and see which one is for you.
