Want more bike lanes & trails on the boulevard system? Speak up next week for bike/ped in new design standards http://ow.ly/HPfdy
KC's famous boulevard and parkway system is a great place to walk and bike, but it can be even better. Let our city leaders know that you support bike/ped in new design standards for parkways and boulevards.

KC Star editorial endorses Grand Boulevard road diet and buffered bike lanes #bikesmeanbusiness http://ow.ly/H7g05
Putting Grand Boulevard on a road diet is the best way to fatten up Kansas City’s reputation as a bike-friendly community. Translated, we fully support the city’s plan to slim down the number of traffic lanes on wide-open Grand from the River Market south to 20th Street and then add dedicated lanes for bicycles going north and south.

New bike lanes are among the few bright spots as Missouri & Kansas slide down the national health rankings http://ow.ly/GXv4G
The United Health Foundation recently named Kansas and Missouri among the seven states that have sunk the furthest on its list over the past 25 years. A robust Kansas was in 12th place in 1990; now it’s a middling 27th, according to the foundation’s America’s Health Rankings. Missouri used to be among the better half of states at 24th place; now it’s a dismal 36th.

Back to basics in 2015 for #KC: Repairing our roads, adding bike lanes, improving bus service @HamptonStevens http://ow.ly/GvUA4
The life of a city, like those who live in it, must have balance. The soul must be nourished, but so must the body. For a long time, people in Kansas City have focused on our collective soul.

Next MO River crossing due for replacement is the Route 92 Centennial Bridge between Leavenworth & Platte Counties. KDOT has not committed to including bike/ped, so your voice is needed next week to show strong public support. http://ow.ly/GZhh1

Please KDOT don't be short-sighted by not including bike/ped needs into the design.  Having this access would open great routes for the greater KC cycling community and facilitate cross-country touring in our neck of the woods, rather than being diverted to more bike-friendly crossings in other states.
