This fall, CPSC 183 will be incorporating Wikipedia heavily into class. My awesome teaching team(+xiyin tang +Adi Kamdar +Stephanie Rivkin +Joel Sircus +Sebastian Park +karoline evin mcmullen +Christopher Nofal -- with more to come as the TA roster is finalized in the fall) will be using G+ hangouts to have team meetings. This should be a wonderful test of how G+ can be used as a tool in academic environments. (Although increasing the hangout limit to 15 would be super appreciated!)

Does the gmail team realize how incredibly easy it is to remove the bottom "ad bar" in the new interface for chrome users? (or how annoying it is....?) The old ads at the top never bothered me, the yellow hover does (and I am not alone -- http://www.google.vu/support/forum/p/gmail/thread?tid=37dc2c17da6af75d&hl=en ) Solution? ....right click..inspect...delete node....
Thanks...Chrome team.

I certainly am. I really like the floated action buttons for long emails.

New cover by Karmin -- and this, ladies and gentlemen, is why mandatory mechanical licensing is a wonderful thing.

One good thing to come out of privacy scandals? Gym advertising.
Law of unintended consequences indeed.

(For full effect - this ad should have included a shirtless "mirror" shot with a ripped body with an actual mirror for the face. Or for ladies, a bathing suit, or whatever ladies do mirror shots in.)

I saw this one in DC about a week ago. Stopped cold in the street and laughed.

I doubt this ordinance is specific enough to withstand constitutional scrutiny. There's a notice problem AND a vagueness problem.

Sue Gardner's keynote was fantastic.
Planning for CPSC 183 in the fall, learning a lot. Very excited for what 183 students are going to add to wikipedia this fall.

I was really energized by Sue's presentation as well, it motivated me to finally proposal that proposal I'd written in TextEdit to strategy.wikipedia.org, and I was just following along with #wihed on Twitter. (hi Brad, I'm Nick: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:NickDupree you don't know me yet, but I'm a fellow NYC wikipedian) nice to find more fellow travelers!
