nice article, but what it fails to mention is exactly what kind of cloud services are being utilized. Many of these could be using private cloud services, while others could be using hybrid or private cloud models. Each model comes with its own benefits and uses. Some are not suitable to all businesses.
The statement about the IT service provider gaining performance through the use of cloud services may be true, but I can probably guess to within 1% accuracy that the cloud services are actually spread across many data centers and using a global DNS load balancing service such as Akamai or Limelight to achieve those results. Simply having IPTV services coming from a single location unfortunately will not guarantee improved performance.
It may be more beneficial to say what kind of cloud services are being used. There are many factors that go into the performance of cloud services. It is not as easy as simply signing up for an account on Rack Space and say "we are now cloud optimized".
