I love hanging out at Roostercat. The first time I walked in here was by accident. I had just moved into the neighborhood and needed to grab a cup of coffee wherever nearby, and stopped in as it was close-by. I Have since (about a year now) been coming here once or twice a week and for the most part the experience has always been positive. The food and coffee are good and the environment is cozy, though it can get hectic at peak hours. COFFEE The Coffee is quite delicious and well-made. There have been a few times, usually when it's busy, when it hasn't been the best, but the vast majority of the time it is quite good. The bottomless drip is a bargain, as it costs only slightly more than a regular drip, and it's great if you plan on sitting for a few hours sipping and writing or working. The baristas are also great at recommending different types of custom drinks if you ask them. I'm an annoying customer and they always make great lattes based on what I ask. FOOD The breakfast burritos are good and at $4 fairly priced. There are also other dishes typical of cafe's: Bagels, small sandwiches, panini's, etc. They're made fresh as opposed to pre-packaged, which is good. They also serve some muffins and scones and other typical coffeeshop items. It's all good, but just be careful when you order food: 10 AM on a Sunday means you could wait a while. SPACE The place has a typical layout, with the exception of the outdoor areas which provide additional space. The inside has exposed brick and funky art. The outside spaces are really cozy also, especially with the gas fire pit during colder days, but unfortunately sometimes some people do smoke. Not sure what the policy is regarding that.

Big fan! Solid wifi, drinks, open til midnight, and great outdoor seating with 2 fire pits! Love that they're open so late--it's really nice sitting outside by the fire pits at night, sipping good coffee and watching the world go by.

One of the best mochas I've ever had. The environment was also great to hang out in for a while to escape some rain.

All of the reviews are correct, high quality everything. Something must be mentioned about their great music choice and their long hours as well.

We were very excited to try this place out based on its awesome reviews. The atmosphere was nice (has both a smoking porch and nonsmoking porch), and the drip coffee wasn't anything notable. Unfortunately, the quality of food for the price was simply unforgivable. I got the smallest, saddest egg, avacodo, and cheese "panini" you've ever seen. Not only was it tiny, with very small amounts of the ingredients, but it had very little flavour. It was essentially glorified toast. And it was 8$. My boyfriend's egg and cheese bagel was a similarly sad scenario, but thankfully only cost closer to 4$. If you want a place to hang out, sure, go here. If you want food, go just about anywhere else.

Erica! I agree with you. Our panini's were mediocreso we decided to make a change. We now have a brand new menu, with fresh organic ingredients and very reasonable prices. I'm sorry you had a poor experience, I encourage you to come in and try our new menu. Thanks - Colin

I've been trying all sorts of coffee shops around Denver and I personally believe these guys are the best. Plenty of space to sit and chill, great waffle sandwiches, coffee, and flavor selections. Staff is excellent. I'll walk in, and they might be chillin' out talking with friends or something but immediately stop what they are doing and help you with your order. They are also open till midnight, which awesome if you need some joe or a place to chill out at for late night homework and studying. I even thing they have bands sometimes later in the evening! Recommended.
