The world’s first smartphone just turned 20. Yes, there was a smartphone before the iPhone. The IBM Simon wasn’t called a smartphone, but it did feature software apps. It could also be linked to a fax machine. Young ‘uns, consult Wikipedia or a history book if you have never heard of a fax machine.
