Why Managers exist?

“If programmers don’t regulate themselves, others will do it for them”

I definitely put my bet on it. Have a strong feeling that it is very underestimated platform.
In 2016, Dart was both the fastest growing programming language at Google and the 2nd fastest growing in TIOBE Index.

We're going to celebrate by ... releasing 1.22 next week (as per our usual 6 week release schedule).

Thank you, community.

Just gave talk about most important things to consider when migrating to Cloud Platform on #BuildStuffUA

Here are the link to slides (without notes yet): https://olostan.github.io/slides_breakmono/

Slides again built with +Dart (sources available in github: https://github.com/olostan/slides_breakmono). Borrowed idea of Tetris as visualization of used resources in cloud.

Google Developers Experts 2015 Summit is over. That was crazy amazing time! Just imagine - 250+ best grade developers from all over the world came into one place. That's a big concentration of brilliant minds!

Just imagine - you're surrounded with people whose commits you were used yesterday... You can talk to people, whose faces you watched many times on youtube, listened their voices on podcasts. You can ask questions. You're questioned to know your opinion on something.

Cloud Computing. Design. Web. Mobile. UX. Machine Learning.

How many speakers you meet on conferences? 10? 15? 20? Imagine event with 100+ speakers... That what Google Developers Experts summit is.

I am really glad to be part of it. I am sure that every person who visited it share same excitement. And little bit sorrow that it is over.

Big thanks to +Dawid Ostrowski, +Alexis Moussine-Pouchkine, +Nathalie Pereira and all other people who made this event real.

That's why I love Dart - consistency. It should just work. Period.
I just had to update a Dart web app from 2012 to today's Dart. That's 4 years. That's one-year-before-1.0 to 1.20.1. That's #import('url') to import 'url'. That's about 40 thousand commits to the SDK later.

Because this was the first time in years that I updated something from pre-1.0 Dart, I decided to record the whole process in order to document what the major roadblocks were. There were none.

But now I know exactly how much time this took from start to finish: 7 minutes.

Now, this normally wouldn't surprise me. It shouldn't. But just a couple of months ago, I had to upgrade a much smaller app that was written in May of this year to a newer version of npm/bower/gulp/libraries combo — and I lost something like half a day.

If you go to http://dartlang.org and scroll down the homepage, you'll see that one of the core values is Be the stable, pragmatic solution for real apps. That's what we mean by that.
