Excellent Michelin Star cooking hidden away in the Kentish countryside! Lots of local pubs and restaurants in the towns, but to find this in Biddenden was a delight! We had a G&T each (2 of us), four courses, bottle of white wine & water for around 130 I believe it was. 8 or so small tables make up the restaurant, must have 10-12 bookings a night and limited availability unless you book in advance. Great spot in Kent, not many better for the quality of food - all local ingredients - marsh lamb, fish from rye, kentish fruits & wine.

The food was lovely but very expensive. Have had food of this quality which was reasonably priced elsewhere.

I visited here back in February, the entrees were ok. The starter was disgusting, pineapple and duck foie gras, a combination that will never work, served in a cocktail type glass, I wonder if chiefs ever try their food? The main course was acceptable sea bass and wild mushrooms. The dessert entitled 'all the fun of the fair' was too sweet and a bit sickley, more work required I feel. The Wine list was good however, but I expected more from a meal at a Michelin starred restaurant, I will not be returning.

If you like something a little different, then this place is the answer. The menu isn't very big but I didn't expect it to be - but the food is beautiful and filling. The staff were really nice and we couldn't fault the service.

I took several friends, who were visiting Kent, to the West House recently - absolutely top draw. Every single course of every single persons meal and the wines, coffees and delightful pre-course treats were absolutely terrific. All the food is local, seasonal and limited to 5 or 6 course choices, yet the choice is fantastic - we all agreed we much prefered this approach and wish others take note! Absolute hidden delight in favourite village of ours... and seemingly we aren't the first to discover it - we tried rebooking for a week later and it was full... so get in there early!!
