A wonderful retreat from the world to other worlds: the spiny desert of Madagascar, the rainforest of Costa Rica, and the patchwork manicured gardens of an eccentric uber-gardener. The last point, of course, describes the outdoor gardens which are of many different styles and contain pants growing more vigorously than any ever have done in my gardens --- a living catalog of gardening inspiration and/or jealousy. There is an extensive children's garden popular with families but there are still quiet spots to find solitude. The garden center seems pricy on a ticket-by-ticket-plus-parking basis, but with a membership it becomes a nice spot to stop in on a whim. Plus, with the merger of the Botanical Gardens with the Holden Arboretum, one membership gets you in both places.

Beautiful indoor and outdoor gardens and areas. Right in the heart of University Circle it's a great place to spend an afternoon. Street parking is cheap and they offer discounts for military vets. You need to go see this place.

I love this place in all weathers. Rainforest, butterfly house, and spring blooms are beautiful. If you want to have 2-3 hours in peace and relaxed mood, go here.

What a treat to come in from the snow and cold of Cleveland winter. The glasshouse makes the Cleveland Botanical Garden a unique place to visit. It feels like you teleported to visit a hot, arid, Spiny Desert Biome of Madagascar. Oh the joys and wonders this biome has to share. With indigenous animals, insects, and plant life to Madagascar. Then you teleport over to Costa Rica, to visit the Cloud Rain Forest Biome. This misty, hot, and humid eco-system with lots of surprises around every corner. Enchants everyone admiring the exotic butterflies, birds, wildlife, and horticultural wonders. Since Orchid Mania 2016 was in progress, it was so colorful with sweet fragrances drifting through the air. It certainly makes a paradise for birders, butterfly enthusiasts, photographers, and plant lovers alike. You truly forget you are in Northeast Ohio. I had visited last Saturday, regrettably the first time since my last visit back in the late 90’s. I liked it so much I bought a membership. Then I had to return this Saturday for more delight. Between the two visits I shot just over 1200 pictures. I look forward to the next big showcase event. Not to mention, returns through the different seasons to enjoy the beautiful outdoor gardens. I also plan on joining the Cleveland Botanical Garden Photography Club, as well. Coming from a Professional Horticulturist and Avid Photographer’s point of view. Cleveland Botanical Garden is a Crown Jewel of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland. I highly recommend that you MUST GO TO.

A wonderful botanical garden and one of the highlights of the University Circle area. I highly recommend checking it out around Christmas-time for the displays of all the trimmed Xmas trees and gingerbread house competition.

Very cool. The admission was a bit steep, but I'm sure the utilities are expensive.

Think back to plant science class. What natural phenomenon does this LEGO-brick sculpture represent? It's part of our Nature Connects show through August 24.

Beyond their beautiful blooms, vanilla marigolds bring with them a delightful fragrance and make for a great ingredient in salads and teas. You can enjoy them daily in our Wester Reserve Herb Society Herb Garden.
