An emerald gem in the middle of University Circle! The Botanical Garden are made up of a number of small exhibits, including Madagascar and Costa Rica rooms inside (the Costa Rica exhibit doubles as the butterfly house), and an herb garden, rose garden, Japanese garden, various seasonal gardens, and several water gardens outside. The property is beautifully manicured and biologically diverse - you can go at any point in the growing season and see new flowers blooming. In fact, I advise going multiple times during the year if possible: it's a treat to see how the gardens change. One downside is that some of the exhibits, especially Madagascar and the Japanese garden, are on the tiny side. The entrance fee is also high enough that you might consider becoming a member - a membership will grant you free access for a year plus reciprocal free access to the Holden Arboretum out east of town. Additionally, by becoming a member you'll also automatically join the American Horticultural Society, which means you gain FREE access to over 300 gardens throughout the entire country.

We visit the Cleveland Botanical Garden every year. It's a wonderful place to explore with gardens outside and various areas inside which different habitats. The rainforest area is the best with two stories to see both within the rainforest and the canopy on top, and it's filled with butterflies!

A must to visit when in Cleveland. Great spot for whole families, or a casual go out with your loved one. Well designed gardens slow for both walk alone or a community get together.

One of my favorite Botanical Gardens I've ever been to. Worth the price of admission, especially in the summer. There is a year around exhibit in the biosphere and a great expansive garden (go figure) outside. This year (2016) they have a tree house exhibit that is pretty awesome. The entire place is wheelchair/stroller friendly too.

A wonderful retreat from the world to other worlds: the spiny desert of Madagascar, the rainforest of Costa Rica, and the patchwork manicured gardens of an eccentric uber-gardener. The last point, of course, describes the outdoor gardens which are of many different styles and contain pants growing more vigorously than any ever have done in my gardens --- a living catalog of gardening inspiration and/or jealousy. There is an extensive children's garden popular with families but there are still quiet spots to find solitude. The garden center seems pricy on a ticket-by-ticket-plus-parking basis, but with a membership it becomes a nice spot to stop in on a whim. Plus, with the merger of the Botanical Gardens with the Holden Arboretum, one membership gets you in both places.

What a treat to come in from the snow and cold of Cleveland winter. The glasshouse makes the Cleveland Botanical Garden a unique place to visit. It feels like you teleported to visit a hot, arid, Spiny Desert Biome of Madagascar. Oh the joys and wonders this biome has to share. With indigenous animals, insects, and plant life to Madagascar. Then you teleport over to Costa Rica, to visit the Cloud Rain Forest Biome. This misty, hot, and humid eco-system with lots of surprises around every corner. Enchants everyone admiring the exotic butterflies, birds, wildlife, and horticultural wonders. Since Orchid Mania 2016 was in progress, it was so colorful with sweet fragrances drifting through the air. It certainly makes a paradise for birders, butterfly enthusiasts, photographers, and plant lovers alike. You truly forget you are in Northeast Ohio. I had visited last Saturday, regrettably the first time since my last visit back in the late 90’s. I liked it so much I bought a membership. Then I had to return this Saturday for more delight. Between the two visits I shot just over 1200 pictures. I look forward to the next big showcase event. Not to mention, returns through the different seasons to enjoy the beautiful outdoor gardens. I also plan on joining the Cleveland Botanical Garden Photography Club, as well. Coming from a Professional Horticulturist and Avid Photographer’s point of view. Cleveland Botanical Garden is a Crown Jewel of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland. I highly recommend that you MUST GO TO.

Beyond their beautiful blooms, vanilla marigolds bring with them a delightful fragrance and make for a great ingredient in salads and teas. You can enjoy them daily in our Wester Reserve Herb Society Herb Garden.
