If you hold a learner permit, it is illegal to drive alone. Your vehicle must clearly display ‘L’ plates on the front and rear. You must be accompanied by a driver who holds a full driving permit for a period of more than 2 years. Driving unaccompanied can earn the driver penalty points. There is a proposed legislation for 2018 which could see the owner of the car receive penalty points rather than the learner driver.

Wearing your seatbelt correctly
The belt should be worn diagonally across your chest on your shoulder and should NEVER be worn under your arm.
It is recommended that if this feels uncomfortable you should adjust the height of the belt on the anchor point on the door frame or adjust the seat position and height.
Injuries to the body following improper seatbelt use are devastating, for example;
Torso: spinal damage caused by impact requires the wearing of a full-body case and may result in partial or total paralysis.
Abdomen: Internal lacerations can result from improper seatbelt use.
Neck: if you are thrown violently forward in a crash it can cause serious injury to the neck and head.
